if our voting system has more viable candidates, I might be able to see Scruffy's argument, but with how our country is simply a 2 party system, that is just absurd logic and often logic that people use to project others ideas onto otherwise innocent people

Liberal voters need to be taught a lesson.

I agree liberals are secret racists and awful people but the attacks on them here are getting out of control. We should put them in concentration camps, learn to love each other, and become a better nation

This is exactly what it is and Scruffy is smarter than this.

This is really dumb logic
It is an absolute fact of how this works though.

Why should someone be allowed to distance themselves from a negative aspect of their vote?
quote:

Everyone that supported Trump, did not support 100% of the things he did and/or said

Everyone that supports Biden, does not support 100% of the things he does or says
Again, why should they get to distance themselves from certain unpalatable aspects of their vote?
quote:

The vast majority of people, vote for someone based on a few policies, if not just one
And they gain all other positions espoused by said politician.

If they didn’t want that, they shouldn’t have voted for them.

No, the answer is “it doesn’t matter one way or another”.

Oppose, support, condemn, etc., it is all irrelevant.
You post about a ton of shite on this board, it's probably 99% irrelevant, so it's just odd that THIS is the time you bring out that argument.

I've never seen you go into a sports thread debating players or teams and just telling everyone, it's all irrelevant, and it doesn't matter.

quote:

The only ones who deserve any blame for any of this are the ones who ultimately perform the looting and burning.

Right, so again, I don't know why you took exception to my previous post replying to the poster who was literally blaming those innocent citizens even though they did NOT vote for the Democrats in those cities.

quote:

Why should anyone care about what is said by those who aren’t involved?

Will it change anything?
See above. You're posting right now giving your opinion to things I just said 3 minutes ago. I could ask you the same thing, why are you even replying to me, what will that change? It's just a really weird argument you're only choosing to make now when it could apply to 99.9% of the topics you talk about on this message board as it relates specific to that exact post...none of it matters.

apparently no one in this thread should ever bitch about JBEs restrictions or mask mandate

I mean, "we" all voted him, right? isn't that the logic of this thread?

What is this in reference to?

Are you saying this in reference to an excuse to why it's ok to root for cities to burn?

It's also completely bullshite, many folks who lost their businesses lost everything and can't simply rebuild, so now it's not even that simple or correct.

Again, why do you feel the need to choose one or the other when it is not about choosing one or the other?

We all accept the very concept that I am discussing the minute we vote.

You do not get to distance yourself from “your” politician’s less palatable actions.

Sorry, you don’t.

All oil & gas and other big business should be run out of Louisiana. They voted for that Dem governor and they need to suffer the consequences!

BAM, there ya go.

But all those poster who probably bashed him for months on end will now backtrack because that logic doesn't apply to them.

We've gone way too far on a tangent here, I'm still trying to understand why all of a sudden the "It doesn't matter if someone is rooting for cities to burn" is a stance you're taking now when you could apply that to virtually every argument/debate/post you've ever made on this board.

because we are not black and white, us vs them, right vs wrong, left vs right? people have the right to hold different beliefs and don't deserve to get pushed into 2 boxes

quote:

If they didn’t want that, they shouldn’t have voted for them.

maybe they didn't vote for them in the primaries, but when it came time to election, other policies were deemed more important, so that is why they voted the way they did

this is simply Scruffy trying to shove everyone into neat little boxes, which is just such low level thought

If you would bring up that argument in any other thread, I would say the same thing.

Also, I call shite “irrelevant” all the time.

It is one of my favorite words.

We have zero power outside of this board...on anything.

It is one of the reasons I left the PT board. Getting annoyed and angry about things over which I have zero control is a waste of time.

Absurd. We're a representative republic with a two-party system. You vote for the candidate that most aligns with your positions. He's not your personal lobbyist.

How far do you extend this logic? I voted for Bush in 00 so I guess I'm on the hook for all kinds of shite?
