I've never been to Disney, but why? If they enjoy it, why does it bother you?

Are you going to answer me, or is an emoticon the best retort you have?

I'm laughing because you think walking 9 miles in a day is physically demanding.

To who exactly? A daily runner? No, of course not. But most people don't run,or walk, 9 miles a day for 5-7 days. Your emoticon is laughable at best.

The most immature adult I've ever met was obsessed with Disney.

I'd like to hear some examples of adults being obsessed with Disney World.

Unfortunately I know multiple Disney obsessed adults.

1 a guy from high school has been obsessed as long as I've known him. His whole family is. They've probably gone there 30-40 times at least. They buy "collectible" crap that costs a fortune. Fine if they have the money, but they put it on credit. They have Disney tattoos. His entire house is decorated in Disney memorabilia. He doesn't have kids!
The kicker is that about 3 yrs ago, his family moved to Orlando and all got crappy jobs at Disney just to be able to be there everyday. fricking insane.

Another family, at least they have kids, go at least twice a year. They all wear matching embroidered Mickey shirts with their names on it. A different one every day. The parents even met at Disney world! They know where they'll be eating on any given day at any given time 6 months in advance. They make charts and plans and strategies for doing the parks. They get so stressed out talking about it I can't see how it's any fun.
I suggested once that they take the kids who are now 8 and 10 on trips to places other than Disney and they looked at me like I was crazy nuts.

My parents took me to Disney twice. Once when I was six and again when I was 11. It was ok. I had a good time, but looking back I enjoyed and remembered my trips to The Smokies, Washington DC, San Francisco, Alaska, Colorado, New York City, San Antonio, London, Paris, Oslo, St. Petersburg, the Carribean, Mexico, Canada etc etc much much more.
Now we were fortunate that we were able to travel a lot, but for what these people spend on Disney, they can surely afford a week in DC, San Antonio, Denver, Gatlinburg , etc etc etc. Show the kids something other than some sanitized theme park.

Read " Team Rodent: How Disney Devours the World" by Carl Hiaasen. It's a pretty interesting non-fiction account of how Disney manipulates everything and everybody. The author is a native Floridian who loathes anything Disney. It's a short read and can be funny at times.

Not too keen on Disney - I like rides so I'm a Universal Fan. You can't beat the Hard Rock get you to the front of the line key card!

Disney is so fricking overrated. Give me a beach with white sand and blue water for a week over the morbidly obese walking around with kids on leashes and stuffing churros into their fat faces.

Everywhere out here. Dead give away. You see Mickey ears sticker on back of vehicle and it got AP(Annual passholder). Means stay far far away. Straight up mickey mouse crazy.
