Why are pharmaceutical commercials so annoying?

They annoy me more than any other type of commercial. The music, the acting. Bugs the shite out of me for some reason.

Hey, relax guy. You seem stressed out. Consult your doctor. Xanax might be right for you.

They're all the same. Some woman/man living out his life in slow motion.
These commercials show that even with AIDS, painting lessons, piano recitals, and wine tasting are still very doable.

Can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgment, and coordination. Combining with other substances, particularly alcohol, can slow breathing and possibly lead to death.

I think the one for people with uncontrollable laughter disorder pushed me over the edge. The cheesy use of the medicine name in old classic rock songs rubs me the wrong way.

That guy “Bob” with reference to his schlong working well after pills really cracked me up though!

The Symbicort just came on...3 little pigs/big bad wolf blowing house down....grandpa has COPD and can’t blow out birthday cake candles on his gay little grandsons cake.
Kid has mom and COPD havin’ grandpa at his birthday party...no other friends. Loser.

Mainly because they aren’t supposed to be a consumer product. People lobbying their doctors for meds because they saw a commercial? This is pure idiocy.

I just watch for the disclaimers, which almost always include death. For example, a cold medicine might include side affects such as diarrhea, backache, headaches, rash, dizziness, drowsiness, hemorrhoids, erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, or even death. All of a sudden, a cold doesn’t sound too bad.

I like hearing them casually list the long list of side effects that are way worse than the condition the medication supposed to treat. Listing the condition itself or worsening of that condition as a side effect is especially amusing.

Probably because you know it’s legalized dope dealing.

The Evolution Peptides commercials are the greatest.

Please don't frick my wife Frank Thomas.

I guess I feel better about myself knowing that Frank Thomas had erectile disfunction and Bo Jackson couldn’t get his arse out of bed without pain medicine. I think Herschel Walker is on medication for multiple disassociated personality disorder or some shite.

Ads for prescription medicines don't exist in most other countries. We're one of the only two countries on Earth where the pharmaceutical industry owns enough lawmakers that a guy who changes motor oil for a living will tell a doctor which medicine he should take based a commercial.
Europeans are always amused/horrified by those ads when they visit here.
