bullshite. You're the not hungry guy that swipes the last appetizer and starts eyeballing people's leftovers. Then when the bill comes you don't offer to pay for anything since you "didn't order food."

Be honest, how fat are you?

Why. That makes no sense. I'm going to be spending the next 14 hours with these people. Why should a 45 minute excursion mean I should stay at home.
You sound like a ball of fun. Way to start these 14 hours off on the right foot.

When I was 8 years old I invited a couple of kids to come over and swim at my house after summer church camp. When we were walking home we stopped to get food and he said he wasn't hungry. We knew he had to be since it was early afternoon and we kept telling him to get something and then he finally admitted he was hungry but just like you he had no money and couldn't afford to order food. We bought him his food and then all got on him for not letting us know. We told him not to do that again because we were his friends and if we had eaten in front of him while he was hungry and couldn't because he had no cash he would make us huge jerks.
The point is if you are just honest and tell your friends you can't afford a meal I am sure they will pick up the tab because they won't want to eat in front of you while you are broke. The reason they all ask is because they KNOW you aren't eating because you are broke which makes them feel like assholes for eating in front of you and ruins their meal. Since they already know you have failed to the point where you can't buy a meal they won't judge you for admitting it. They will appreciate you are being honest, they will be thrilled they can finally enjoy a meal with you around and everyone likes being charitable to someone who is less fortunate.

If you're in the south and you don't eat when offered food, it is disrespectful and rude. While going to a restaurant isn't the same thing, it is the same context
Eta: To me, it would seem like you're there just to be there. People want you to be there with them. That's what eating together signifies

OP must be fat.Lots of fat people won't eat in public. They go home and pig out at home for dinner.
I did catch one eat a big Subway cookie once. Thing was folded up and consumed with the quickness.

I have never heard about this, much less experienced it. If you are "sick of people complaining about this", you are either a complete douche bag who has many other social issues besides not being hungry at a restaurant, or hang around a lot of other douche bags who have nothing else to complain about.
Since you decided the best course of action was to post about your unbearable situation on Tigerdroppings while out with your "friends", I'm going to guess it's the former.

I have a friend who's cheap/poor like you. Will always come out with us but will never eat because he would never spend XX dollars on XX food.
Personally if I couldn't afford to eat out I'd rather stay home then sit there looking like a jackass.

As a former restaurant worker, I HATED people like you. More people at the table the more I had to "share" the table. Although there might be 12 people at the table it really was only 6 people actually eating so I wasn't my entire night on one table...if you can't afford to at least get a few drinks, tell your friend and join them after whenever they go

Self-centered people ask questions like that. Reminds me of people who have untrained dogs at their house who jump all over you and slobber on you, and they look like you're from Mars when you balk at it.

Order an app or something, even if you don't eat it others will, and then you don't have to listen to them ask why you're not eating, or make them feel weird eating in front of you.
Which if you're too broke to do that then you should just give up because your pathetic excuse of a life is over.
