Why are parents allowed to let their kids get morbidly obese at a young age?

I was at chick fil a for lunch today, and I saw the most obese child I've ever seen. She couldn't have been older than 5 but she is already extremely obese. She could barely walk. CPS needs to be called in with these situations. This poor girl already has no chance at living a happy healthy life, and she's only 5 years old. Its truly sickening.

On a related note, Hondurans are the fattest people per capita I've ever seen. They move to this country to eat and get fat apparently.

It might have been her grandmother, but she actually wasn't that large. She was of average size I suppose

Parents are too lazy/don't know how to cook and probably eat fast food 6 or 7 days a week.

Fat kids can become skinny kids, adolescents, adults. Weight loss isn't impossible.

Should be a crime IMO. Aside from bad drivers, the thing that triggers me the most is checking out and watching parents buy their kids little debbie snacks, poptarts, and sugary junk shite.

And if you think you are already paying too much for health insurance now, just wait.

Blame the fast food industry.

Its convenient and garbage. Target audience of poor, uneducated people who dont know how to cook beyond microwave.

Population control.

Good thing you're definition of abuse is exactly the same as everyone else in this country. Otherwise, government would just be able to take kids for bs reasons.

At some point making the child “happy” in the moment by shoving shite tons of sugar down their face became way more important than their future. It’s pathetic, but everyday a higher and higher % of Americans can’t see more than 10 seconds in front of themselves.

Yes, let's get the government involved in our lives even more. Also, they should definitely use the antiquated BMI scale when deciding which kids to take from their parents.
