Because douchebags cannot do anything without drawing as much attention to themselves as possible.
To answer your question in a more limited mannet, it is because the owners of said motorcycles do not keep a decent muffler on them. There is no reason that a motorcycle needs to be louder than a car.

I don't understand why motorcycles have to be so loud.
Are you so dumb that you can't see the packaging issues of 15'+ of pipe and a barbecue pit sized muffler on a motorcycle?
I really can't get into more technical aspects if you are that dam stupid.

Your whining pleases me. Do continue.

quote:You can. Due to the lack of space for a large muffler you must choke the engine down to a very low h.p. output by using many baffles and very small openings.
You can make a motorcycle very quiet.
Not everyone in the U.S. is an Beta or SJW. The men of this world (and some women) like high performance. An engine makes more power as it can flow more gases. Getting more flow on the exhaust side produces more noise.

NOTE: I don't ride motorcycles nor do I like the sound of a noisy motorcycle, especially a Harley.
I simply don't like assholes that look down their noses at others that they secretly envy.
We all have our hobbies. None are without some aggravation to someone somewhere .... Get over it assholes.

Are loud motorcycles a small penis thing
I mean, if I were riding a motorcycle, I'd want that bitch to be as loud as possible so the cars around me know I'm there.
Probably has way more to do with safety than penis size....

quote:So you are so ignorant about the subject that you aren't aware of the bikes that come from the factory with loud pipes??
it is because the owners of said motorcycles do not keep a decent muffler on them.
You just wanted to up your post count not minding that your ignorance could misconstrued for stupidity?

There is no reason that a motorcycle needs to be louder than a car.
I wonder why my factory stock 450cc single cylinder utility 4 wheeler is louder than the 6 cylinder SUV my wife drives??
I'd like for it to be quieter. May I get your technical advise on how I can fix what the factory couldn't??

Wel yeah, but how do you explain the obnoxious revving that most loud bikers do when stationary?

Motorcycles... providing trauma centers job security for nearly 100years.
Kidding aside, be safe out there.

I'm sure the sound of my mufflers (Rineharts BTW) does alert some I'm there. But I still see a whole lot out there who are so wrapped up in their phone they don't see or hear anything around them.
Do I like the sound of my Harley? Of course I do. Do I sit there revving it up when I'm stopped? No. I personally think the low rumble of Harley at idle sounds awesome.
I don't need to sit there revving up my bike. To those who are bothered by this, all I can say is you can either get over it or not. I really don't give a shite either way.

You guys getting mad because people suggest your motorcycles could be quieter remind me of this episode of South Park

Probably encounters a dozen or more motorcycles almost daily, hears one guy rev his engine, and then bitches about "most loud Bikers" being "obnoxious".
Deep down, and he'll never admit it, he wants to be one of those obnoxious Bikers but he's either too scared to get one or his wife won't let him get one.

And the answer to this is because your 4 wheeler is considered an off road vehicle and therefore doesn't have to conform to the same exhaust requirements as your wife's car. And if they don't have to put those mufflers on there then why would they incure the extra costs? to do so?

Weird question, do you know any Menchaca's from Wichita Falls? I'm good friends with some and know it's a small place, especially in the healthcare realm.
