Outside of the obvious answer of climate change that we need to send trillions to the elite to solve while flying around in their private jets, what has changed to make more storms reach the USA?

Cause there has been a shitload of Atlantic Tropical storms in history and the stats you give are a very small sample, where we have more technology to determine speeds and more accurately forecast them in categories.

Our ability to observe and monitor hurricanes on and offshore has grown in leaps and bounds since 1976. More accurate data for classification?

There was a study...

Less CO2 and pollution more powerful storms I believe it was

CLIMATEWIRE | Hurricane activity is shifting worldwide in large part because of climate change. Cyclones are getting stronger, intensifying faster, dumping more rain and migrating into different regions of the oceans.

But global warming isn’t the only human activity at play. Air pollution also has a significant influence on hurricane formation, according to a new study.

Over the past four decades, air pollution has declined in Europe and the United States with the adoption of stronger air quality regulations. And it’s had an unexpected side effect. Decreasing pollution has caused an increase in tropical cyclone frequency across the North Atlantic.

At the same time, pollution levels have risen across much of South and East Asia. And that’s had an unexpected influence as well. Tropical cyclone activity has declined across the western North Pacific.

I personally think that improvements in instrumentation enable us to measure wind speeds in areas of the storms we couldn’t before. A 3 40 years ago may have been a 4 and a 4 actually a 5.

Not enough data yet to make any real scientific conclusions yet.

I figure it has more to do with things like La Ninas, El Nino, etc

actually this year was projected to be much more active because of la niña. seems like we were spared for most of the season because of the saharan dust and its dry air that inhibits development.

NOAA study from earlier this year shows that decline in air pollution in the west has led to an increase in Atlantic hurricanes. Here is the article from accuweather on the NOAA study, but this was also on the front page of The Advocate a few months ago.

Stout it seems like we hear more about the African dust shite coming across too. To the point of maybe we can actually measure it now, but maybe there has been a change in the gulfstream or currents or something a science bitch like Duke would know

From 1976 until 2000, 22 Category 3 hurricanes formed in the Atlantic. 11 made USA landfall

From 2001 until 2022, 26 Category 3 hurricanes formed in the Atlantic. 10 have made USA landfall

I am going off of Wikipedia so if anyone has anything different let me know
