ou have, by accident, perfectly described the mentality of the people causing 75% of the problems in this country.
I worked nights and weekends while going to JuCo during the day. I worked 40hr weeks, but often got an extra shift on weekends. My wage was $4.25/hr. My income in 1993 was $10,500.
Most of my college costs were covered by academic scholarships (which I lost in my 3rd year because I had no time for studies), student loan, and Pell grant. But I was still dirt poor. I remember not being able to afford groceries so I put them on credit card. When the card maxed out, I would transfer balance to a new card with 0% APR for 12 months. I played that game for 4 years. I ran out of propane the winter of 1994-95 and couldn't afford to refill it, but I bought a used kerosene heater which I only turned on the coldest mornings. I bought USED car tires. I was one frickup away from being homeless, and you pricks would have towed my car and left me jobless. I wouldn't be the tax paying contributor that I am today. Your policies suck.

there wasn't a bus to take me to work. I paid $500 for a car so I could get to work. Punishing poors for being poor doesn't solve anything.
You have 2 legs though. Wake your broke arse up earlier and get to walking

I think they put a big orange or yellow sticker on the window

some deadbeat with no insurance rear ended my vehicle on airline a few years ago and the cop let them drive off LOL. After causing an accident with no insurance
I think the car should have been impounded, then sold at an auction. Then the money given to you. There has to be accountability.

The ultimate goal should be to have drivers insured. Big fines and huge impoundment fees don't work. They will pay to get the car out of impound but won't have money left for insurance. So, they will drive uninsured.
The same with flags from the DMV, which are, for the most part, a government money grab.
The current system isn't working well.
I've heard of a state that the officers remove the license plate. To get the plate back from the law enforcement agency that removed the tag, you have to have proof of 90 days worth of paid up insurance. The law enforcement agency gets a small fee.
That would work.
Another option is to just not have the mandate, since it isn't enforced anyway. But no pay, no play. If you're uninsured and get in a wreck you can't sue.

I don't get this post. 7-8 vehicles on side of interstate? Were they just there abandoned or were they pulled over by cops? What does insurance have to do with them being abandoned?
When people talk about those driving without insurance, it's usually when they are pulled over, but your post makes it sound like the cars are abandoned. If cars are abandoned, who gives a shite whether it has insurance or not? It's not driving, it won't hit you.

I respect the hustle. Full automobile comprehensive coverage is easy $200/car, if you're insuring it with the lengths. That's $2,400 a year. Tons of lower class people can't afford $2,400 on car insurance.
Some of these car insurance companies try to quote me $400 a month for full comprehensive on 1 car a month. Four hundred f*cking dollars a month to insure my car? Absolute bull shite. Geico is the only one that got close to slightly under $200 for full coverage per month for 1 car.
If it gets to the point that auto insurers all make my quotes $400/month for 1 car, I'm just not going to pay it. It'd only take 4 years where my insurance payments would exceed the worth I paid for my car. Screw that, I'll just pay out of pocket as it'd be cheaper if I total my car than pay that much on insurance.

You can't sell a car if has a lien on it.
That's why drug dealers always lease. No CAF.

If it’s on vehicles on side of the road with out law enforcement present then it’s 72 hour abandoned vehicle notice I think the state is using Red now.No insurance stickers are neon green, and generally in my area are only used for emergent situations where you can’t impound the vehicle. typically if you have no insurance your vehicles is towed and your plate is seized and turned into the DMV.

Either take the plates away until proof of insurance is provided, or impound the vehicle with smaller fees for impound and proof of insurance provided before releasing the vehicle.
What we’re doing isn’t working.

They get big bright orange papers put on the back glass. Which they all had.
You’d be suprised at the quality of vehicles too. Maybe one in the bunch was a beater. I’m thinking it’s people that have caused accidents in the past and have high rates.

What don’t you understand? I’m just commenting on the shite ton of people driving around with no insurance. They aren’t abandoned. The cops make them leave it on the side of the road and slap a bright orange sticker on the back glass. Yes these cars are parked on the side temporarily but what about all the others that didn’t get caught? You don’t think they ever get in wrecks.
