For the same reason high wasted and longer shorts for women came back into style: straight men don’t design women’s fashion. Nothing women do is really to impress men at all, but to impress other women. The all want what they think other women want.

Not true at all. I see 1 pieces all the time along our beaches with great looking girls in them. Many of them actually are borderline slutting it up in them.
