Why ? Hell, I can’t think of a title, right now.

I registered Republican in 1978, so no I’m not some liberal. I do support the liberal agenda in some environmental causes. I want the ducks to have a safe place to breed and grow before I shoot them.
However, it baffles me how the muricans think democracy is the only way to go, and socialism is evil.
The ten most democratic nations on earth make up nine of the most socialist nations.
Medicare, Social Security, hell even TOPS are all socialist programs deemed sacred cows by the anti-socialists.
I’m not voting for Bernie, but some people truly don’t understand the terms they use, or what they actually believe in.
Sorry, just random thoughts due to lack of bars being open.

We don’t have a democracy. The United States is a federal republic.
Socialism is not a system of government, it’s a political philosophy.
The two terms are apples and oranges.

I'm mostly against socialism because I never seem to be the beneficiary.
It looks like I won't get any of this stimulus crap.
I've always paid for my health insurance. I bought it on the open market when I had a job that didn't provide it.
Got a merit-based scholarship to college and worked as a co-op student.
I'm well into the phase-out income range for all the big tax credits.
I'm owed a bunch of Social Security one day, but the only asset Social Security has is a bunch of IOUs for money spent on wars, and on people older than me.
shite, I didn't even get that stupid $3,000 after Katrina because I didn't evacuate. I didn't evacuate because it would have cost money I didn't have!
So if you want me to ever support socialism, it'll have to be a retooled version of socialism that actually benefits me instead of a bunch of people who made (and continue to make) irresponsible choices.

You and Bernie don't understand what true socialism is. It's government ownership of the means of production.
Social security and Medicare are essentially fairly popular Ponzi schemes.

Cool. More State. Less Individual Liberty. Liberty is too messy with people making all those icky individual choices. It’s much better to have benevolent experts just guide our lives. Gimme more that gubment gravy. What could possibly go wrong ?
