The slot space companies pay a lot of times is much more than the actual grocer makes on the product. And you can bet Blue Bell is paying the premium so they can get it out and in front of people. They aren't closing those cases out of the kindness of their heart.
No kindness. It's all about survival at this point.
I'm not a fanatic, but most of the competition has reduced their product size below the standard half-gallon while keeping the same price.
I wonder if Blue Bell will follow suit.

I remember the Payless in Gonzales had half an aislededicated when they opened up a decade ago.
Galvez looked about like this, but I think there were 4 doors

They don't have to. The fact that there's so much excitement for its return tomorrow says all you need to know in terms of whether or not their products in the half-gallon size can sell. They're gonna sell a shite ton.

At Ben & Jerry's, a pint is still a pint. I don't think they even make a half gallon size.
I may buy some Bluebell ice cream sandwiches. Those are pretty good, and I threw away almost a full box back when they had Listeria.

Blue Bell made kids sized "birthday cake" ice cream. I would keep a 24pk in the freezer. It would last me all year.
That's about the only product of theirs that I know.

They were trucking it from their Alabama plant to keep the Texas market supplied. They must have just about rebuilt the whole Texas plant for it to take this long.

I have a want to buy some in the morning. Abita is supposed to have their hard root beer on shelves within days. Some of that poured over some blue bell vanilla... Merry Christmas!

I wonder if it will be in the stores when I get off at 4:30am??? HHHmmmmmmmm. may have to take a pit stop in the morning and see. It'll be a win win if it is. I get my Homemade Vanilla, and Jody will get a little more time with the mrs...
