State police and BRPD have to put up with it.

That last conversation in which the person asking the question, brought up Alton Sterling, makes me want to throw something.

Everyone keeps talking about "we need to sit down & have a dialogue about things", but I would really like to see someone give a presentation on the Sterling situation. Explain to them, the police were addressing a 911 call they received about a man who threatened someone with a gun.

If Sterling would have cooperated with the police, while he might be in jail, he would still be alive, however;... Then at this point go step by step with how Sterling resisted arrest, the police attempted to taser him twice, but he continued to fight.

Then ask people, like the guy who brought this up, a few questions.
1. At what point does your issue begin in the whole situation?
2. Are you questioning why the police were there in the first place?
3. Are you questioning why he was being arrested?
4. The police could have avoided shooting Sterling if ____________?

Part of the problem is that people are scared to ask the questions that should be asked. Ask the guy if the race of the officers have any impact on how he feels about the situation.

Maybe I am wrong. I don't always side with the police, but I thought from the very beginning the shooting of Sterling was completely justified. Let the public know why what happened, happened. The only legit argument someone can make, which is still a bullshite argument is "the police should have handled it different".

I understand Sterling had trouble getting a job because of his police record, but frick.. At that point its time for someone to take personal responsibility. And just because you can't get a job due to your criminal record, doesn't give you the right to make a living illegally.

I have no idea what kind of CDs or DVDs he was selling, but first, he didn't have a permit to sell. Second, I am going to go ahead and assume it was bootleg shite he was selling. People have gone to jail because of piracy of music/movies right? So even before Sterling was shot he was:

- Selling merchandise without a permit.
- Selling material that was illegally copied (assuming)
- Illegally carrying a firearm.

He put himself in that situation. The police didn't go around just looking for some dude to arrest.

I say we draw a line around N. Baton Rouge, and make fat Gary Mayor of The city of N. Baton Rouge (of course that means he needs to actually live there). Let them police themselves and support themselves. As a property owner in EBR parish, I'm sick of supporting these clowns.
