do you already have a plex server? you'll need that but if you dont want to jump through all those hoops, likely a $20 ONN android stick and an IPTV service will get you where you need to be without alot of extra costs.

i chose plex because i wanted to be able to watch TV regardless of device. IPTV is fantastic for phones and computers but a little more challenging when it comes to the main place you want to watch..TVs!.

eta just give me some background and i can walk you through it. there's a thread on the tech board if you want to take this discussion over there.

Yea, and how much are you spending at the restaurant? I’m not that douche that bellies up to a bar for 4-6 hours while ordering water because I’m too cheap to pay for TV.

Also, if I’m having company over I don’t want to say….ok guy, it’s not working. Let’s run around the streets all hours of the night and peek through windows at restaurants to see a game.

oh perfect! you're good then.

you have an IP torrents account? i have some invites if you need.

linux or windows? you'll need to install threadfin, but that's super easy.

after that, just pick your IPTV service and we can walk through putting it all together. its pretty easy once you've done it once. in fact i've blown out my setup about 20x in the last 2 weeks. because its that easy to start over. i'm learning as i go and each time it gets a little more polished.

What does that have to do with my post?

Because it’s this carrier charging these fees. You don’t have fees like this with YouTube tv or others. You are pretending the carrier has no part in the price hikes at all

I go between DTV and YTTV every year (DTV for Braves season, then back). Trying to go ahead and cancel DTV but I can't because the cancellation page won't load (how convenient).

You might want to try to bully someone that is actually ignorant. IPTV is completely legal and like a Flipper or a laptop it can be used in a 100% legal way.

However, your post:

quote:

And I get 45,000+ channels, all pay per view, Sunday Ticket, 120+ channels of college FB, 100,000+ movies on demand….

I paid $110 for a year.

This is clearly illegal and theft. It is one of the big draws of IPTV. Just man up and admit you are a thief. You are no different than someone that walks out of CVS without paying but your situational morality allows you to justify it not much different from what the CVS thief does.

Just got off the phone with them and cancelled. I got YouTube TV right before the game. Going to stick with that for now.

I don’t get internet for that price either. I’m paying an extra $40 for that.
$200 is just for the cable, and over $70 is fees and taxes.

Which app for the Roku? I always thought it wasn't available on it.

Just search “iptv” in the device library. Probably a dozen will come up. Pick one and download the app to your home screen.

It’s so simple my wife did it. After that you have to get on the web to go to their website and subscribe.

The app and website will have detailed instructions.

The primary law covering copyright infringement in the US was passed in 1998. According to the law, penalties and fines were to be imposed against people who provided copyrighted content without the appropriate license. However, streaming was a loophole in the DMCA, as the terms of the law only applied to downloads.

This loophole was recently closed, however. An extensive COVID relief bill passed in December 2020 included measures that made illegal streaming a felony. Under US law, streaming content via illegal IPTV services can lead to up to 10 years in jail.

However, the new law clarifies its stance on who’s guilty. The Protecting Lawful Streaming Act prosecutes those operating illegal streaming services rather than those using them.

——————————

I’m finished arguing with you. Pay $3,000 a year all you want. I’m content with a clean conscience.

…middle finger tomorrow. They pulled this shite right before the SEC Championship game and now with the LSU opener.

This is NOT ok. Cancel my shite. There will NOT be a 3rd strike.

Directv has been on its way out for a while.

I imagine they didnt have the bargaining capacity to get the deal done. This might be their nail.
