I find "all sports" guys to be some of the most annoying people imaginable. Really lame, and I look down on them.

An "all politics" person would be a bit much, BUT if they can articulate intellectual arguments, I could probably enjoy that to some extent.

One of my best friends is pretty damned into sports, but also a heavy thinker on politics. We have some nice long talks over coffee occasionally.

PoliBoard is heavily slanted, sure. Echo chamber? Not really. You can let your proggy flag fly and not be banned, unlike most other left-slanting forums.

It’s an echo chamber in the sense that the discussion is so terrible that anyone interested in an actual discussion quickly leaves as they are disabused by the notion that actual discussion is impossible.

It happens to be conservative-leaning, but that’s not the problem. I’m sure there are left-leaning internet dumpsters that are just as bad. Both are a complete waste of anyone’s time unless you want to troll some tards (which is admittedly an enjoyable thing to do on a slow workday).

To answer the OP, they’re basically just the same person. They’re people with bad coping skills who have chosen that particular venue to project all their life’s frustration and anger through.

I’m both a big sports fan and highly politically engaged/literate, but neither a sports championship nor a particular election would ever come to close to being the reason I’m happy or not as a person.

I can’t stand being around anyone who takes themselves too seriously or can’t get along with people who see things differently than them. Major indicator of a low-functioning adult IMO.

is probably both. I can see him being a die hard Trump supporter.. Not saying all Trump supporters are the same.. Not the case at all.. But like both political sides there are the crazies who make the other supports think "and this why we can't have nice things".
