Not true at all. My son’s Mustang GT has 435 hp, and my Vette had 455. The difference in the driving experience between the two was significant - even in a straight line. I can’t even imagine what the couple hundred extra hp in the Z06 must feel like.

Who would drive a Corvette?
I see OT 10s driving much cooler cars in the Quad every day...

I had a 1989 Corvette to cruise up and down the Pacific Coast Hwy.
Corvette not an everyday car it is a weekend go have fun driving by car. It was a pu$$y magnet and was fun to drive with top off in California. Only problem was I was married that kills that part of having the car. Mine was red and was nice when I shined her up. It would do 120 like you were driving 60 mph.
Back then the quality was horrible and my Corvette stayed at the dealership. If it was not the transmission the digital dash would go out. GM finally bought mine back and I bought the wife a mini van and Ford Ranger 4x4 bright red for myself.

Corvettes and Louisiana roads dont really jive together. potholes and front end scraping can be expected.

Vettes are the only true American sportscar, although the Camaro has really expanded its scope far, far beyond being a muscle car.
They are moving to a mid engined layout for the Vette.

That's my point, I'd rather have comperably priced 911 (used) or M4, or whatever that money could buy instead of a ZL1. I'm sure you could get the ZL1 around the track faster with a good bit of practice, but the overall driving experience day to day wouldn't be close.

To each his own. I'm a German car guy but I understand those who are Vette fanatics.
Speaking of Corvettes, whatever happened to Vette Guy?

For $65K you're looking at a 8-10yr old 997 with around 40-50,000miles
I'm not a Camaro fan but, give me the ZL1 anyday in that scenario

Yep. Hell, I would drive a Lexus RC or Infinity Q60 before a Corvette
Maybe you have driven all 3, but I'd be surprised if you have if you would choose those two over a vette if you want to drive a performance car.

I agree that they scream insecure, midlife crisis, flag waving fanboy but you really can't get a better bang for the buck in terms of performance from a sports car.
One of the reasons the Corvette has survived this long is because they are often only driven as weekend stunter cars so that world-renowned GM reliability never factors in.
*sarcasm*

Went from Corvette to Chevette.

Not true. When I had mine, I bought a 4 yr. old 911 with 23K miles for around $54,000. I passed up a 3 yr. old 911 with the GT3 body kit with 9,000 miles for $65K. Big mistake there - if I had bought that one I’d still have it. That was just a few years ago - they haven’t changed drastically in pricing in that time.
And for the record, my C8 Vette was more fun to drive than the 911, both on the track and off. And I’ve been a 911 fan since my early teenage years.

On the track the ZL1 1LE does......the 350R slightly edges the non1LE version.
