add in how fast the asset depreciates and its hardly a bargain.
This is what I have against trailers. Typically, they are not a smart investment. I know someone who paid 100k for a single wide on a half acre. They just tried selling it for 93k after living there for 5 years and couldn't get an offer close enough to asking to make financial sense for them.
I'd rather live in an apartment for a few years, than a trailer.

I've never lived in one, but I've lived in a couple houses that I wished were as nice as trailers. There's nothing wrong with it and plenty people who are far better humans than you are living in trailers. Shitty thread OP. You should feel bad.

What does a brand new single wide cost set up and everything?

I wouldn't know personally but Google says this
quote:
Short distance moves can cost between $1,000–$5,000, while longer trips can cost as much as $15,000 or more. You can determine your cost using this good rule-of-thumb: Estimate about $5–$10 per mile for your move.

When I was 5 years old, my mother and I lived in a small trailer in Pine Grove, La. When I was in college, I lived in a 5500 sq ft ( 1.5 million $) house in Houston.
It's not where you live, it's what lives inside you.

I just moved into a bricked in trailer with a metal roof and cypress trim on 26 acres of land with a creek and a nice stocked pond. Its completely paid for, land and all. We plan on building a house here within the next 5-10 years.

I don't care what you believe. I can't control your beliefs.

Is it a monthly payment or do you sign a lease? Wouldn't mind doing this in the future
Ours is a monthly rental. No deposit, no lease and you can pick up and move any time you want, just let them know you are going. Rent covers our lot, elec, water, cable, internet, sawage/garbage pickup, dog park, pool, park, etc. (other places might charge you for your electric or other fees).
There are RV places where you can buy your own lot and we are looking into those as well. They are nice communities with amenities and the lots maintain their value because people are invested in their neighborhoods and their RVs.
I think the concept of allowing residents to do work on the property in return for free/reduced rent is great. That gives the owner access to a lot of man power rather than having to pay full wages employees who live off-site. Many camping places use the work-camp method as a way of getting great employees, especially seasonal one at state parks and such.
The place we are has a residential area (towards to back) and a tradition holiday short-term camping area up front. By choosing to be residential we pay almost 1/2 of what the people who rent for a few nights do. It is affordable enough where my bf only has to work one week a month to pay all of our bills and we live a good life enjoying all of the free time.

Both the deer camp and lake trailers are Fema units with a 12 ft slide in the middle and very comfortable for the bride, myself, and her ankle biter.
Got one set up as my fishing camp on Old River. Best $3500 I spent, but the cover over it was 2K.
