Wallace and Ladmo, nothing was better than getting a Ladmo bag. That shite was better than winning the lottery for a kid!

Ali Landry, Miss Louisiana/USA in 1996 - my Freshman year of high school. Sophomore year she came and spoke at an assembly - perfect attendance from the males at the school that day.

JYD
Tha Junkyard Dog
AKA-Sylvester Ritter (was on his mailbox)

You could walk by his house and see him working out in his garage with good guys and bad. He'd invite us up and say in a garbled voice- "we got us a truce for a few days"

Have one in my closet that he gave me when I was on his show for the Penny Walk. It is one of the only items I have from my childhood. About circa 1968.

Didn't they do this to buy a new elephant for the zoo? They raised so much money that they bought two elephants.

Yes, it was called the elephant walk, not penny walk. Kids brought pennies and dropped them in a barrel while the Henry Mancini song Elephant Walk was played.

This for me. We were too far away from Baton Rouge to catch Buckskin Bill, but when we'd visit relatives in Krotz Springs, we'd watch him.

Al Copland was a man that didn't give a shite what you thought about, he did what he wanted to do. That was commendable although at the expense of being a pompous arse. And as much media he got that he gave back to to the area, much more of his charitable donations intentionally flew under the radar. Dude was a good ol baw.
