Now HBK I disagree on. He came up in the era with Bret, but the Montreal Screw Job kind of started the attitude era with the Cliq. You could make a case that started the attitude era more so than the Austin 3:16 speech at KOTR. HBK thrived in the attitude era and yes, IMO, helped define the era....the attitude era would be less of a thing without HBK's DX. Now you can make the argument that his injuries prevented more of an influence in that era for him which I'd say is probably true....but he still had a helluva influence.
I don't know if HBK would've ever gotten the chance if guys like Hogan/Macho Man were still around. I think Rock/Austin could have broken through, but I don't know if they would've been the biggest stars.

The migration to dubya cee dubya created a lot of question like this....also I think the WWF/E made a bad move at the time (the time being the couple years before the WCW migration) putting so much into Yokozuna.

It really depends on how you want to define it. If we are talking all time, then Bruno Sanmartino has to be on there, but I think it makes more sense to talk about once WWF/Titan Sports went national in the early 1980's.
Next question: do we include only wrestlers or a broader group of people? My answer here is that we include everyone on TV. So that includes wrestlers, announcers, etc b/c they are all performers and the public sees all of them.
So my Mount Rushmore would be:
Hulk Hogan
Vince McMahon
Stone Cold Steve Austin
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
I think valid arguments can be made for Undertaker, John Cena, Andre the Giant, and/or Macho Man Randy Savage taking the place of Stone Cold or the Rock.
Ric Flair, Sting, and Goldberg are far more famous for their time with WCW and aren't the very top for WWF/WWE. Crazily, I think there is an argument for Hogan in a WCW Mount Rushmore as well.
Guys like HHH, Shawn Michaels, and Brett Hart are hugely important, but IMO a step under the guys listed above. I don't think any of the ladies have risen to the level to be considered.

5th post before Flair is mentioned.
Obviously the young kids are on the OT today.

Ric Flair would be in the mount rushmore of wrestling, but both his stints in the WWE were fairly average when compared to his days in the NWA/WCW.

Undertaker
Stone Cold

I feel Bruno is being far too ignored in this thread. If not for him WWF doesn't make it to the Andre/Hogan/Macho Man era, and without them WWF doesn't make it to the Attitude era (barely because of the guys between but more the writing/gimmicks; if not for Taker, Michaels, and Hart they likely go under).

Flair would be the Top #1 guy on NWA's or WCA's Mount Rushmore.
This is WWE's. Flair made his name in the NWA and WCW.

Most of his career was in NWA/WCW, not WWE. I thought this was a WWE Mount Rushmore.

Where the hell are you frickers at during the Monday Night Raw Thread???
I watched from around 95-02 or so...Monday Night Wars and Attitude Era. Haven't paid attention much since, although every once in a while I'd watch replay online if I heard an old star had made a return.

People are also letting their hate for Cena cloud their judgment. You HAVE to have him on there since he was the top guy for damn near a decade.

Sammartino and Backlund are the only champions to hold the title for over 2,000 days. Which is just ridiculous to think about. Sammartino had that thing for 2,800+ days. Unreal.
ETA: I'm an idiot. Hogan also had it for over 2000+
John Cena has held it for around 1250.

That was just his first run, and that's over 2,800 days straight.
He held it for more than 4,000 days total (over two reigns I believe).
He carried the company until Andre came in, and then Hogan.
Bruno
First reign was 2,803 days. He had two reigns combined for 4,040 days.
He truly was the man in his time. That's more dominant than Hogan or Cena easily.
