A few years back, I, along with 25 other pro wrestling experts from around the world, each sent in our "Top 100 of all-time" lists, based on drawing power and overall impact on the industry. The lists were then compiled into one final list. Here are the results:

Seriously? The Rock was the biggest star WWF/E had in the late 90's and early 2000's

His wrestling career pretty much overlapped stone cold, and I'm pretty sure stone cold was more popular (as a wrestler) and more accomplished as a champion.

That said, the rock is a million times more famous than stone cold or any other wrestler, and is by far the biggest "star" every produced, when considering success outside of wrestling.

The question becomes, does he make the wwe mt Rushmore because of his success and stardom outside of the ring?

Michaels is on the list (#49). None of the others you mentioned made the Top 300. Please remember that this list was worldwide, not just the U.S. Unless you really know wrestling history, then these "all-time" lists are invalid. The majority of names being mentioned by posters in this thread are from the past 20-30 years and are simply names they remember from childhood.

Haven't really watched wrestling for several years but here goes nothing:

Andre The Giant - was a big part of the expansion from regional to national wrestling federation

Hulk Hogan - really helped the WWF/WWE expand nationally (i.e. Hulkamania)

Undertaker - long-time legend

Stone Cold - king of the Attitude era

Based on that compiled expert list, the Top all-time in WWE (guys who wrestled the majority of their careers in WWE) would be

1- Hulk Hogan
2- Bruno Sammartino
3- Steve Austin
4- The Rock
5- Randy Savage
6- Bret Hart
7- John Cena*
8- The Undertaker*
9- Shawn Michaels
10- Bob Backlund
11- Roddy Piper
12- Triple H*

The ones with an asterisk were still active at the time the list was compiled, and would likely rank higher if a new list was made. I'd have Cena and Taker ranked 5 and 6, and HHH 10.

Maybe I'm old school but I still consider Ric Flair WCW - whole different Mt. Rushmore. That would be:

This. I don't think flair belongs on a wwe mt. Rushmore.

If we opened it up to "wrestling" mt Rushmore, absolutely

Anyone who watched wrestling in the '90s knows this is a joke.
If Michaels is not on Mt. Rushmore, he's damn close

What is the cut off age for wrestling fans? 25? I just can't imagine that grown men watch a fake "sport." It's just weird.

It's an interesting hobby. I used to work for Mid-South Wrestling Showcase (an attempted Mid South revival), as well as a columnist/moderator/reporter for a numerous websites, such as wrestlinginc.com, prowrestling.com, lordsofpain.net, and kayfabememories.com. I've met literally hundreds of wrestlers over the years. Sounds lame, I know. Don't care.
