Back in the day daytime, Bob Ruby...i wish someone could find the audio of him telling the story of the enema bandit...
at night, Charlie Douglas of course...if you ever heard the story of him and "Dammit Ray" putting the loudspeakers in the three hole outhouse...

Mine are
Hap Glaudi
David Tyree
Buddy Diliberto
Hmm... something in common about all three. I just can't put my finger on it.

Hap and Buddy were New Orleans originals...I just wish Buddy had lived long enough to walk down Bourbon St in a dress after the Saints won the Super Bowl
shows how different things were when Hap was able to get into Jesuit by simply paying tuition (which he won on a bet at the Fair Grounds)...

The best show I remember was back during the midst of another atrocious Saints season (it may have been the Billy Joes era) he and Buddy D put on a whole hour where they pretended the Saints were undefeated and steamrolling teams. They would only field calls singing the "undefeated" Saints team's praises and questions about playoff seedings and Super Bowl accommodations. It was pretty entertaining.
Sucks they both had passed on by 2009 when it went down for real.

I've asked about this on the Saints board but curiously no one else seems to remember it. In the early '90s Buddy D hosted a weekly show with Saints player Renaldo Turnbull. Turnbull was having a bad season and Buddy was calling him out on it. finally Turnbull got so pissed off that he threatened Buddy D on the air.
Even curiouser, the weekly show continued with the pair, and WWL even used tape of the threat to plug the next week's show!

Garland's speech comes across my air waves as if his tongue died in 1995.

It's been terrible since Bob and Vince were let go.

If I have to listen to idiots, I want yat idiots.
I haven't listened in several yearss so I haven't heard Dave Cohen on a talkshow, but he's probably pretty good. I hear T Bob is decent. Scoot has been on the radio for like 50 years so he should have something interesting to say.

I quit listening to WWL years ago. Now I have XM and rarely tune in local stations.
The best non sports local talk ever was when 99.5 first converted to the talk format and they had Rod Couhig, Andre Trevigne, Gary Forster and Anthony Patten.
I hated it when they sold out to clear channel and change to the Rush formate and brought in all those out of state talking heads. I never listen to it now.

The entire morning crew is awful
I'd like to line em all up and punch each one in the throat

Zach Strief actually did pretty good during his time as a fill in. If WWL could put him on full time and take him off of the Saints' OL, that would be a win/win.
