Butchers are constantly injecting meat with "a solution" just to add weight while folding, contorting and hiding fat and gristle in packaged meat you would never buy if you could see it in the package.

quote:

It turns out that a lot of our meat is enhanced. About 30 percent of poultry, 15 percent of beef, and 90 percent of pork are injected with some kind of liquid solution before sale, USDA says, and it's usually something high in sodium.

I mean, all salesmen are useless.

Butchers actually work and have a skill.

Well considering a car salesman tried screwing me over by trying to take $3,000 off my wife’s trade in bc the sunroof wouldn’t open all the way. I’d say car salesman.

I came out there myself and the fricker wasn’t pushing the button all the way in. I guess he didn’t anticipate me going out there myself and checking? He didn’t pull that stunt until we started to sign the papers. He also “lost the keys” to the vehicle about 6 times. I wish I was kidding. He met every single OT car salesman stereotype.

And I'm sure many people all over could tell of similar stories with car salesman, whether new or used.

This isn't even a legit question. I don't know what the hell kind of butchers OP has been interacting with, but to try and compare the 2 is strange.

Easy used car salesmen.

Who can sell you a lemon for thousands more than what it is worth. Then tack on fees and extras like tire packages, extended warranties, gap coverage, and high interest.

Stop buying your meat at Walmart. You get what you pay for.

I’m a butcher. Been doing it for years. Worked with guys that have been doing it for ages. I’ve never even heard of this shite.

Should have known better than going to Rouse’s. And you probably paid too much for previously frozen repackaged meat with a new expedition date of tomorrow.
Live and learn.

.....and all you have to do is decline the coverage and say no thanks.

ETA: and regarding the interest, just take the purchase order to your credit union or shop around with different banks.

It’s so sad that the expectation isn’t for consumers to educate themselves.

When I was in college, I cut meat at the WD on burbank and thinking back, I loved that job. You get to work in a cold environment, which is great 90% of the time in Louisiana, have literally every kind of meat near you at your disposal, not to mention the talent that came through that store on any given day. It's definitely a skill that you can use the rest of your life.

No clue where OP is getting this angle that butchers inject, we simply cut and packaged everything we received and this was only a few years ago. Damn, now I'm hungry for some filet
