Doctors, Doctors, and Doctors are to blame. When they get compensated to write prescriptions by the drug companies its not hard to see why so many people are addicted to pills.

Also why I don't really trust doctors.

Would you please explain to me how I am compensated for writing pain meds? Apparently I'm missing out on a large revenue stream, as are every one of my colleagues.

I show you an x-ray with your tibia snapped in half and say it needs to be fixed you're going to decline because you think I'm trying to steal your lunch money?

If it follows pain management after a legit back issue, it's the injury's fault. Some people are so fearful of a return of pain that they keep taking the meds as a tolerance builds up. Otherwise, it's on the person who injests it for illegitimate reasons.

You're retarded. There are no meds for that.

Inducement? Sure, why not.

And, pharma isn't super strict about that type of thing anyway.

Free drugs!

Doctors have become drug dealers, pushing pills for the Pharmaceutical companies

Most pain pills are generic. Nobody is detailing those with reps. Vicodin, Percocet...generic.

Doctors don't even get shitty pens from pharma anymore.

Actually that's not true.

FDA - Duragesic

Every single version of Fetanyl has it's own FDA approved indications as does every single delivery method of which there are several. Do you need to be getting it from your family practice guy, of course not, but there are many beneficial uses for an array of chronic conditions.

Yeah - the most common pain meds are all generic. Generic meds don't have sales reps.

And the whole "pharma reps paying docs and giving them Saints tickets and freebies" is 200% bullshite.

I'd get fired and blackballed from ever getting another pharma job.

The pharmaceutical rep game is in no way, shape, or form like people think it is.

I can bring food - breakfast or lunch - to an office. I can't take them out, I have to bring it to their office. That's all the "inducement" I can do on the company dime. And most of the time I don't even get to see the actual doctors.

Frankly, I wish they would ban the meals too. They're a pain in the arse with very little ROI.

Ok, well it is glaringly obvious you have no idea how the practice of medicine, or the billing thereof works
