BR get to claim Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels as well?
Sure, why not? You did read the thread title, right? It doesn't say "from" BR.

John Fred is up there
Slim Harpo (yes I know he's from just across the river) was every early rock and roll musician's idol
He wrote King Bee, and Folsom Prison Blues... probably wrote Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones as well

Then it's Nick Saban, Dale Brown, Pete Maravich
or Skip Bertman.
Or hell, might as well throw in Gary Plauché, Derrick Todd Lee and Stormy Daniels

From all the names I have seen here, I would say it’s Pete Maravich.

I would call folks who spent 2-4 years in the city as people who "passed" or "came through" BR versus "came out of." I guess I read a certain "from" connotation to "come out of."
Did anyone in the New Orleans thread mention Drew Brees?

It's certainly open to interpretation. And you may be right as per the OP's intent. But I interpreted it as not "From". And I would think if an athlete spent enough time here that everyone in the country associates that person with LSU/BR, then it would suffice.

I haven't been in that thread. But he's from Texas. And I can assure you the people from Purdue will claim him as one of the most famous people to come out of there. Same with NOLA now.
Maybe the OP can explain his meaning, "from" or "out of".
I'm truly not trying to argue with you, BTW.
