The dirty little secret is that on a big explosion or serious case like that the advertising lawyers refer the case to the great trial lawyers but take their shitty cut.
You patient was almost certainly represented by one of the Houston scum as they had almost all the injured people on DWH because they paid them 100s of thousands up front

There’s a guy based out of Metairie named Mark Tauzier. Dude is a beast and actually enjoys going to trial. Takes cases from Florida to Texas, but is based out here and has offices in Metairie and Hammond. He’s my guy if me and/or my family get hurt. Look him up and consider it for real. I’ve been to a few of his cases that went to trial and it was complete bloodbaths. Dude is amazingly thorough and intricate.

I know Mark. He's a good guy, but this sounds a lot like an adertizment to me. Someone owes chicken some $$ for this.
