Who here saw the large alligator snapping turtle bonfire?

This thing was well built, stood about 7 ft tall and 20 ft long.

way back when I was a wee lad (mid 70's?) we'd hit the Lutcher/Gramercy/Garyville levees for Christmas Eve. Hardly anyone would be there, you could walk right up to the thing. It was like hanging with friends. no crowds, just good folk.
Then everyone else discovered it and it was ruined forever. Cars and people everywhere, couldn't get near the fires, just ruined...

The neck would extend outward and the jaws opened and closed. Nice bit of animatronics right there!
