I am contracted to do a job that takes me about 5 months out of the year once a year by a few different groups.
No timeclock or e-timeclock.

I've not punched a clock in close to 10 years but I do remember how good it was to hear that sound at the end of the day.

swipe in by badge at the gate. our time is kept by computer program. supervisor logs attendance and absent for pay police to verify you were actually there, and didn't get someone else to clock you in.

Last company i worked for we had an electronic timesheet we filled out online. Switched jobs and now we have an electronic badge reader that tracks in/out.
I use to be able to take off a couple hours early and still get paid

I wish. Have to input my time in increments of ten and write a description of what I did during that time.
Billable hours suck.

Neither, salary.
You can be salary and still have to track hours, FWIW.

Question should be:
How many people actaully get paid actual hours based on how much time they put in to some system.
So if you work 7.54 hours a day do you get paid for that?
