Same. I lived on Lakemont and I'd take that little creek crossover to Avalon every day to see my Avalon peeps. I think I may know who you are. I have a mental image of being at the Avalon pool, in that little circular concrete thing with Pam in her bikini and Cherie in hers. The twins would walk around the neighborhood all the time like some kind of blond mafiosa. I was never friends with them really though and later as adults at the kid's school or at a tailgate they'd go to great lengths to pretend they didn't know me lol. Remember Nick S that lived on Munal also? He had a GREAT record collection. He hung out with Dan Adams. Remember those guys? I also never had to worry about getting my arse kicked because S Crank was my fight bro protector, lol. He got me out of a beef with Larry Rowland, douche canoe.

For some reason, I always remember Pam in a bikini and Cherie in a one piece. No matter. Both finer than frog hair no matter what they were wearing.

They had a white Trans Am their dad bought them when they were 15 and were out there in their bikinis every day washing it. I was a year older, so 16-17 year old GF1 would, being the young gentleman I was, always volunteer to help them.
I got an invite to the 1985 Broadmoor 30 year reunion at Huey’s back in 2015 and I saw them both there. They looked almost exactly the same.

Ah yes, Cherie’s brother. Big ol’ pothead who everybody was afraid of.

Then you knew Hank & Tony Robinson, both good buddies of mine.

I have not thought of them in years. Honestly did not remember their last name but remember "Hank and Tony". I had serious Schwinn-envy, they always had the best bikes. Near them on the same street was Royce S the redheaded kid and the Bradfords and Greg and David Green and down the street was Byron Simpson (RIP) .
Small world. I was so blessed to have grown up in that idyllic non-Clown-World. Good people and good times and people resolved problems like human beings.

I feel the same way. The world went and got itself more complicated.
I may be thinking of someone else, but aren’t you a neighbor of mine in the IEJT? We should meet up some evening over at The Bookstore and reminisce over something brown and wet with ice in it.

Sure sounds great. Is your last name a color ?

Nope. I’m not Mark Green. But I lived down the street from him.

Broncos for 5 years....’78-‘82. We had some pretty good teams during those years. Remember playing against Bucky Richardson from the Bengals during those years and you could tell even at that age...he was just little bit better than the rest of us. Graduated from Woodlawn in ‘88.
Definitely remember the rivalries of wearing our jerseys on Friday’s at SE middle. Lots of Broncos and Panthers at SE during that time.
Speaking of Dennis Brown...the only year of organized basketball that I ever played was on the freshman team at Woodlawn(84-85 school year). Dennis helped coach us once or twice a week....it wasn’t enough. The only team we beat was Bishop Sullivan twice...that was their first year in existence as those freshmen were the school’s first graduating class in ‘88.

Marks ex wife was Gina Green that Derrick Todd Lee murdered. I actually spoke to him circa 2005 about it and was shocked.

Wow, I had no idea.
I was on FB w/ him, but I can’t remember if he was at our 30 year HS reunion back in ‘14. He was an all right guy, but we never really hung out much, despite living just a few houses down from each other.

Yep, right there! Saints! Don’t let any soy boy “boomer” talk bother you. Their pajamas must be irritating they snowflake skin!

the Athletic House on Tom Drive for new equipment.
That place was awesome for a kid in the pre-Academy days.
I’ll never forget winning a check for $9.10 from WLCS in 7th grade (they were 910 AM on the dial). First check I ever had. My mom showed me how to endorse it, then took me to cash it, then in to Athletic House…where I promptly purchased a 31” Reggie Jackson model Louisville Slugger. It meant I no longer had to use my next-door neighbor’s (and best friend’s) 30” Mickey Mantle model.

I probably know a lot of those guys too.

Broadmoor Falcons FTW
We owned the league in 75 or 76
My mother was dating hall of fame Johnny Robinson and he came to my games. If she would have put out, he could have been my step father. Thanks mom.

I decided I had a pretty good shot at beating him, one on one, about 1987. He made me look stupid for a few minutes, then taught me a few moves and some helpful footwork. He was a good dude.

Played on the Falcons 5th-7th grade. We practiced at Sherwood Elementary. Played (most? all?) of our games at Westdale Junior High. City co-champions in 1980. (still have the trophy, lol). Coach Alexander. His son was the running back and built like a tank. I had to try and tackle him in a drill and he proceeded to run my skinny arse over. We had a blast though. I remember the stick em too. Also we would play our games in the morning and the coaches would walk around while we were stretching and stick smelling salts (ammonia) by our noses to wake us up. lol. Anyone remember Stacy Dennis? He was our quarterback.
