also everyone keeps talking about taxes being raised, would that not have to be voted on by the people?
Do you have a crystal ball that tells you what the still unwritten charter of a still non-existent city will require when it comes to imposing new taxes?

Yes, definitely.

But are you against the incorporation of St George? And if it succeeds, would you move there?

Yes. And I have no issue with moving there when we eventually outgrow our current home.

My currently non-existent kids will be in Catholic Schools anyways.

I figured I could borrow yours, seems you have one that says the MOL and PR will either be annexed or have sales tax contractually obligated to BR, you say property taxes will be raised, seems you are making a whole lot of ambiguous statements

I just keep up with the news that has reported what I was repeating. You should try doing that.

There is nothing ambiguous about my statement.

St George WILL have to increase taxes both for the city and for a new school system if they are created. Where is the ambiguity in that statement?

Is that the same station that reported tigers to the rose bowl, or the one that said no chance of wintry mix?

How much will the city of BR have to raise taxes when they loose MOL and PR?

Again I love how you can say with certainty what will happen but no one else can

Strike 2

The council voted against revenue sharing agreement

quote:

The Metro Council rejected a measure Wednesday that would codify the city-parish’s local revenue sharing agreement, citing concerns that it was designed to sabotage the incorporation of the proposed city of St. George.

I think that happened in Central as well.

The City of Central has not had to increase taxes and currently has a nice budget surplus.

The Central Community School System has raised property taxes and sales tax, by vote of the people. The old Central Middle School was literally crumbling, with parts of it condemned.

Congrats, St. George. If you play your cards right, you just may he lucky enough to turn into the new Central.

There are worse places to live and send your children to school. Not even going to argue on here - just stating facts.
