Worked at a GNC in college. We had a couple tubs of protein that had just expired, and I was supposed to destroy and toss in the garbage. Well being the poor college kid I decided to just keep it because why waste protein?

Well, as I was closing the store and in the parking lot, the district manager pops up to check on things. He asked if I had a receipt, I said no its expired, and he started freaking out. I told him to calm his arse down, here's they keys and expired protein, and I left.

So yeah, only time I ever got fired was because I kept expired protein powder instead of throwing it away.

I was fired once when I was 18 from a concrete building company. A black guy on my crew told me the supervisor (also black) had said he was going to get me sooner or later, because he hated uppity white boys.

I was laid off from a production platform in the 2008 downturn. The bastards forgot to call me, and lay me off. I drove to Houma and choppered out to the platform. The supervisor then called the office and laid me off on the platform. Had to call the chopper back to come get me. I had one kid and my wife was 6 months pregnant.

I worked in IT but at a financial company. Around 25-33% of our employees got the ax during 08-09.

I got let go from a job once since I wasn't good at talking to customers. Also got fired from another job, sued them over it. Ended up settling it.

I was in college and my car wouldn’t start so I called and said I was going to be running late, got a friend to drop me off and was fired when I walked in.

Late just the one time.

Once.
My company hired a young guy out of collage to be my boss. He was in the management family’s club of some type.
I was basically told I would continue to run the department. He would get the title and benefits with the position.
Things were going pretty well. I sucked it up thinking he wouldn’t last long. He start to feel inadequate when everyone referred to me with any questions or when I was in charge during emergency operations.
He began to nit pick me on dumb crap. Gave me a crappy evaluation. I never had an evaluation with the company before.
I started blocking him out of everything I was involved with. I got a call on an off day with an emergency at the plant. I was at an event with my kid. Handled it by phone till I could get there. He got butt hurt I didn’t call him. I called him a a-hole via text in a message.
Went to work Monday with a case of the red arse. Huge work disruption to say the least.
I was put on leave and fired a couple weeks later. No regrets. F that dude. One day I will catch him slipping.

I got laid off from my first job after college after 4 years or so. I was in print media at the time, so any layoffs shouldn’t be shocking but when it happened it did blindside me. My boss, the editor in chief, started balling crying during the meeting while the corporate stooge ignored her haha.

Was the only time I ever have bought blow. Got it after the bar and pretty much went on a two day bender. Wasn’t a terrible time.

Never been fired. I have fired a number of people. All deserved, no cost cutting layoff types.

Only from one job. It happened a half dozen times or so. I was young and hot headed and my boss and I would get into it pretty good. Always “kissed and made up” but Doug would fire me every once in a while.

Got fired once for "not being a good fit", but I was a contracted worker. They paid me for the rest of the week and told me to leave. I got a job that paid a lot more, so it's ok.

My Sister has been fired multiple times.

1. She was fired as a caretaker for a quadriplegic with whom she lived. She got drunk, drove, totaled her vehicle, went to jail, and got fired

2. She claims that she was "laid off" from a minimum wage job at Walgreen's. Turns out, she was fired for theft

3. She was fired from someplace (cannot remember) for cussing out the boss

4. Was fired from at least three places for not showing

She has gotten lawsuits from two other employers, even though she was the one at fault. She is estranged now, but I pray that she can start making good choices. She is 37 now.

I got fired from Newks back in 2008 for not showing up for a shift. The shift in question was during the Iron Bowl and had asked off weeks ago for it. No regrets with 36-0 and ending that L streak.

Not so sure, my first job I was 14. It’s just you are really strict on hours and the younger teens can’t work hazardous jobs.

Yeah the federal law is no one under 14 can work in non agricultural jobs.

You can at young ages work for your parent though.

Never been fired. Went through a merger with one company and feared a layoff but survived.

I got fired from the Dallas Stars. I was on their promotional team, going out around the community teaching kids how to play hockey. Players would join us from time to time at different events. I loved working along side players and getting to meet them on a personal level.

One night a player was sent to the hospital, and then my boss texted our team that a second player was sent to the hospital. I tweeted that, “now (said player) was at the hospital, I can’t believe this”. Soon reporters started contacted me asking for information. I immediately knew something was off. Turns out that information wasn’t leaked to the public yet but I had no idea. I leaked that information and was sadly fired for it.

I haven’t really used social media since then. Hard lesson learned. I loved that job.

I was 18 at the time. Dumb and naive.

I got fired from Rolex for making a 30 hour watch. They didn’t like the extra time I was putting in.

I’ll show myself out.

At 17 and working at Jiffy Lube or some 10 minute oil change place. I got blamed for an engine blowing having no oil. I know I did everything right but I was there the least amount of time. Got an actual pink slip and shown the door.
