You just posted what I was thinking before you added your edit. I do understand where you are coming from though.

I'm not hating on you for hating on BR nursie. My point was some people have bad childhoods and it probably has to do with upbringing rather than location.

I have no idea of your past, and won't ask for you to explain, but I couldn't imagine feeling so strongly against my hometown. I live in a much more interesting place full of opportunity now, but love going home every chance I get and do see myself at least moving closer to home at some point.

No worries
I think there is that "happy place" for everyone, a place where you are content and can just see yourself staying there forever. If you aren't happy where you are at, you should try to find that place. Life is too short to live someplace where you are miserable.

I agree. I really don't understand the adults that stay in a place they hate.
My cousin moved out there last year from Connecticut and loves it...she is begging me to visit

I still enjoy going home. I'm going home in May and I'm looking forward to it. I enjoy seeing my family and my friends. I enjoy getting to eat foods that I can't find so easily in AZ. I do enjoy going to LSU games if I'm home during that time.
You can still enjoy a place for a short amount of time and not want to live there again.

There meaning AZ?
You should visit. Just pick a good time of year to visit

Unless you are a college student or rich and can live in the best neighborhood near your job, baton rouge has very little to offer. If you are rich, though, there are much better places to live. I don't like baton rouge so i hope to live in a better part of the state like new orleans (inside the city limits as apposed to chalmette or kennah, brah), covington/mandeville, gonzales, lafayette, or thibodaux

Grew up in BR, went to HS and College here, now working here, I do want to move away now (in fact I'm currently looking for a job elsewhere), I'd consider moving back here one day at some point in the future. I just feel what's best for me right now is to get away for a while, no hard feelings to this city, but it's just become kinda routine after so many years here and that's not what I want right now.

Yes she moved to Arizona. Not sure what city. I want to say Phoenix but it could be Mesa. I need to check my emails. I know that when she moved it snowed a lot

I wouldn't move to Arizona just for the fact that LSU480 lives there...

I did, and I wouldn't mind moving away after college, but I would love to raise my kids here*
Given I have the money to send them to Catholic schools

Lived in BR for 50 years. Live in Mandeville now. Won't be moving back. I am happy where I am at now.

He's always been nothing but nice to me

I had a good childhood, but also bad things happened in BR too. racism, bad people *high school) made me want to leave. There are things I like about BR like the library.
