Yeah, I know it's misleading. Just cool to see

The weather in Seattle is very similar to the weather in Mexico City, which is why it doesn't bother me. Almost feels a little like home

That's what I thought. Can't say I knew one person from there

One day I will go. From the slideshows they show us every quarterly meeting, looks like a great place. Lots of history. Oldest University in the world, they say

I don't think living in BR again. I grew up in Broadmoor and moved away when I was 23, never came back. I've lived in Houston, Dallas, S. Florida and live in California now. I'm thinking about moving to the Florida gulf coast after I retire, I haven't decided.

I would def love to visit Seattle one day though. I've never been to that part of the country. Looks gorgeous.

That is true. I often wonder if the "hate" of their hometown has more to do with something else. Possibly a bad upbringing or resentment towards parents/family. I can't imagine having a negative opinion of a place with so many good childhood memories. Substitute BR with any city and I'm sure I would have the same opinion.

Ha, if you are in IT, I am looking for someone. We have a global mobility program. Have a presence in 23 countries. The world is at my fingertips. I am burnt out from years of travelling

It is. Been up and down the west coast, best part of the country. Spent some time in Redmond, right outside Seattle. Beautiful area.

I liked Arizona when I visited, the only problem was it's too hot. This Mexican doesn't like the heat

I have openly admitted that my dislike of BR isn't just about the city, it's a strong negative emotional attachment to there. Granted I always wanted to move away ever since I was young but some of my darkest days ever were in BR. Me leaving there for good symbolized to me starting over and putting all that in my past for good. I needed to physically remove myself from all that and start fresh someplace else to fully move on and be truly happy.
I do realize my situation isn't everyone else's though. My dislike is more than just "ugh traffic" or something like that. It goes much deeper.
ETA: If I grew up in another city and had the same stuff happen to me there I'm pretty sure I would hate that city as well and want to move away.

What made you move to Phoenix?

Is losing your virginity to a stripper one of your good childhood memories...

Not if it didn't happen until I could go to a strip club

I originally came to Tucson first for a 13 week travel assignment(had a friend that lived here, figured would be less scary cause I knew someone there). My plan was AZ first then California then travel all over the US as a travelnurse.
Met a guy in Tucson, followed him to Phoenix. He dumped me but I had fallen in love with AZ and the desert so I decided to put down roots here.
Never would have thought I would have ended up living in AZ though. Def wasn't a place I ever thought of moving to whenever I was longing to leave BR.
