how much are the tix to the ball tonight? have a FB friend thinks he's an OT baller there tonight
my inaugural ball story
I had a mad crush on Janine Turner
for YEARS and I saw her in DC during the week, Including me creepily approaching her at the Air and Space museum.
Flashforward to the night of the Ball and I see her at the event and we chat. Along with Dion Sander and Pastor TD Jakes.
The starts playing an up-tempo song and she asked Dion to dance, he declines but nods at me and says "my man here can dance" so Janine takes my hand and we go dance. Next song is a slow song and we stay on the floor

Went to Bush's second one in 2005
High of 30*F
Snow on the ground, walking around in regular shoes I thought I was about to get frost bite on my toes... I was with a group of friends from high school we went up on a school trip for it. But only like 15 of us.
We snuck out past the checkpoint back to outside of the restricted zone. I was 17 at the time. We went and got some coffee, and some cigarettes.
We decided to head back before the proceedings began. So it was 3 high school kids, all the checkpoints were closed, we were separated from our group and totally stuck and abandoned. Luckily some secret service guy saw us and we explained what the deal was. So he escorted us back, walking through the streets of DC that were barricaded off, just walking down the middle of it with about 5 SS guys and 3 teenagers. It was awesome.
The night before there was some concert where Fuel played, and Bush showed up afterwards. I could've reached out and touched him. Then had a great vantage point for his speech the next day during the inauguration.
We had to stay out all night until like 10pm. Once the sun went down I literally thought my toes were going to fall off.
Good times

I went to the 2013 inauguration. I didn't even vote for Obama, but I'm happy I was able to witness such a great American tradition in person. It's a shame that so many people (especially our elected officials) cannot put their political ideologies aside and recognize that a presidential inauguration is about so much more than one person.

Yeah the Inaugural ball...what else was she in besides Northern Exposure?
Well Done. Damn good story to have.
You and Alec Baldwin have something in common.

I've lived about five miles away from the Capitol for the past 15 years and haven't been yet. Too much traffic to bother and the view would better on TV anyway if I cared enough to watch.
Typical LSU fan.

I went to every one between 1989 and 2009. I moved back here in 2010 so I missed 2013, but I've worked several of them, doing multiple events. It's exhausting, but you can make over $3500 for the day and night.
1993 was the most memorable. The American Film Institute event for Clinton was wall to wall A-list actors.
