A bunch of movies and shows had people dying in quicksand back in the day.

Me. I still keep my eyes pealed for it.

Fun fact: 25 people die a year from sand related mishaps. Of those 25, only four would have considered their deaths quick.

LOL, I actually remember having a fear I would find some and be swallowed up. I haven't thought about that since I was a kid, but yes indeed I did.

Can't say that I thought quicksand was a major problem while growing up in Acadiana.

LOL!! What the world made you think of that!?
But yeah, no doubt. Thanks to Gunsmoke, Bonanza & other western themed shows & movies.

But I bet you remember how to get out of it

Funner Fact: It is impossible for a human to sink entirely into quicksand due to the higher density of the fluid

I was terrified/obsessed with that shite. Once, we thought we had "made" quicksand. We played rock, paper, scissors to see who would "test" it.
My friend lost and only got muddy for his troubles. Fortunately, he didn't need the rope we had tied off to a tree to help pull him out. To us, it was serious shite.

I also thought you could dig a hole in the ground, throw some small sticks over it, add some bait, and voila, you'd catch rabbits as they fell into the hole.
I remember checking out trap one day to find rabbit shite on the sticks, but not a single stick was even broken.

Me Used to see it on Tarzan. Blazing Saddles had the best quicksand scene.

I did because of seeing Blazing Saddles as a young un

I really thought it would turn out to be a much larger problem than it actually is
