I just hate the traffic. The rest of it doesn't really affect me. If I decide to skip the parades I just go about my day.

as a teenager growing up in Metry in the early 80's , MG was an excuse to drink, smoke, and eat psychedelics

went to substance abuse treatment in 1987, moved to Laffy , and haven't been to another parade since

don't miss it at all

MG day itinerary : sleep in late, cook some cajun groceries, and enjoy the day off

Sorry for partying lol. The last 6 months have been rough and to finally have a few days off and be able to drink is nice.

I don't hate it but it's certainly not a big deal to me.

It gets annoying when it's all anyone can talk about for 2 weeks.

I agree. It's really not that big of a deal. However, I'm happy to be off for a couple of days from work and school.

I don't hate Mardi Gras, I hate people "celebrating" Mardi Gras for the wrong reasons.

I don't hate MG itself, just the people that go to it. But hey, people don't act dumb. We just have "family friendly" zones for the hell of it.

Support and agree.

Mardi Gras's overall impact on New Orleans and Louisiana is negative, although not as bad as it once was.

Apparently you can't pee behind the wall of port-o-poops.

You're trashy.

And you need to pick your pee spots better.

If someone hates mardi gras, I assume that they are a grouch that is incapable of having a good time. Besides possible safety issues, what's not to like?

Bad assumption in my case, I love to party. Just not at Mardi Gras.
