I went to elementary and high school with a guy that if you gave him your chicken at lunch, he would eat everything, bones and all.

I also saw him once eat five whoppers with cheese, two large orders of fries and two large chocolate shakes after a wrestling match in high school. He wasn't fat either, 6'5" and about 220 lbs.

Dude was prolific to say the least.

Common practice in India.

I would think it would be pretty hard on your teeth if done regularly.

A friend of mine worked with quite a few guys from India. One of them said his wife was "quite the bone eater". He didn't understand the laughter that ensued. Once explained to him he thought it was funny too.

I'm pretty sure that's why they say don't feed them to dogs. Never really thought about it but I guess it could be the same for humans.

Cooked chicken bones are bad for dogs but raw chicken is harmless and about the healthiest thing you can feed them. They love the bones the most.

Eat the bones? No.

But when I make chicken and sausage gumbo, I boil the bones to help make the stock.

About 20 years ago I boiled a chicken to make gumbo. Gave the bones to my favorite squirrel dog, a rat terrier named Sassy. Bone cut her stomach lining and she bled to death internally before we could get her to the vet (we lived 30 miles away).

I don't give my dogs bones any more, and I DANG sure don't eat them
