Robin Williams was pretty good forgot about his stuff. I like George Carlin but later he began to sound like he had dementia and a coke problem. Mullaney is great. Burr is good and lately has been on fire.

Rogan's standup is surprisingly really good.

Just seems like everyone is butthurt when force to take a position. This cancel culture is BS. Sarah Silverman is awesome too because she's F**"ing Matt Damon.

Don't forget Sandler either.

I've seen him 4 times in 3 years. 3 standups and a podcast show.

Tried to go see him in Houston last year but couldn't make it work. I'll make it happen eventually.

Cy Amundson and Chad Daniels have a great podcast if you haven't checked it out. Middle of Somewhere.

I laugh my arse off every episode.

I caught the back-to-back podcast shows of Timesuck and Small Town Murder last year in Nashville. Dan went first, but hung around backstage for the STM show. He hijacked the sound system leading up to the STM show and had them play nothing but Michael Motherfricking McDonald songs.

Yep. It is hilarious. When Chad came to Huntsville, AL and told the story about it on the podcast, I cracked up. I couldn't make the show, I wish I had.

Chappelle and Bill Burr. Chappelle because his viewpoint is a bit more cerebral than most comedians. Burr because of the anger just underneath the surface and I think he handles race jokes well for a white comic. Honorable mentions to Patrice O'Neal (RIP), Dave Attell and Doug Stanhope. And, of course, Norm MacDonald is in a class of his own.

Chappelle was my favorite from when I was a teenager then he disappeared forever, and I kind of lost connection. He's only relatively recently come back. He's still brilliant, but I haven't really remade the connection, probably because I haven't been as into standup as I used to be.

My favorite for the last several years has been Bo Burnham. He's wildly creative and does things with comedy that I haven't seen anyone else do. But on his last special/tour that came out a few years ago now he said that he was taking a break from stand up to pursue other endeavors, so we probably won't get any more standup from him for a long time either. His first movie as a writer/director came out I think a couple of years ago now. Eight Grade. It was pretty incredible, but it's pretty far from a comedy.

Burr's "There's no reason to hit a woman" bit is one of my all time favorites.
