A good anti inflammatory will help if you have any, otherwise, the aluporenol or whatever will keep it away. You don't want it to become chronic so I would get on something now for sure.

I don't, but the people I've known to have it seem to be fat and look like they don't keep up with themselves very well.

I have it ,but it only gives me trouble when I don't watch what I eat. It sucks been wanting to get on some pills but haven't had a bout in a while, and yes I'm a little overweight and drink.
Runs in the family.

It's horrible I gave up red meat and beer. Uloric works as a long term way to lower your uric acid levels.

I usually have an attack during late football season because of changing my diet ( beer and red meat relapse)

Crawfish are also really bad for gout

I either get it in my big toe or ankle. It feels like you have busted glass in the affected joint. The difference (pain wise), between a sprained toe and gout, is that if you elevate a sprain the pain subsides a little. With gout there is no let up. That bitch just keeps on keeping on until it runs its course.

ETA: I'm 180 lbs., eat a healthy diet and exercise. Sucky genes I guess.

So red meat and alcohol increases the likelihood, huh? Guess I'll bump this thread in 10 years.

Genetics plays a role. Some people make too much of it and some people just don't piss it out as well as others. One of those "shite happens"
deals. Some people can eat a lot of red meat and drink a lot of beer and never have a problem.
