aligning with laws prohibiting government funds for such memorials
I would hope this is explicit enough. It was always knowable that taxpayer funding for this required an act of Congress. But sometimes we assume things for...reasons

I knew you would melt over this

Washington DC should not be celebrated.

Trump has personally stated, "I'm paying for it," referring to his self-funding role alongside donors like Google (pledging $22 million), Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and others.
NO Mr. President, you are NOT "paying for it"; it appears the AI Data Centers and tech bros are.
Upon what donor "funding" bases are such "deals" being made?
I don't want to nit-pick, but this behind-the-scene "funding" by wheeling and dealing with the private sector risks scrutiny for potential conflicts of interest. And again -- I'd take the same position were this Biden, 0bama, Trump, or George Washington.

I can't help you. Bamaman was asking knowable questions but in a manner that tells me he is probably cool. You seem very much not cool.

Yeah, uber melting over the Arc de Temu. You got me

We know at a minimum you tossed your parents keyboard in their basement

I'm not opposed to the monument at all and to the contrary I think the anniversary deserves something on a grand scale. I wouldn't even be opposed to it if it were 100% taxpayer funded.

1. My keyboard is expensive; I would never throw it.
2. This is Louisiana; no one has a basement. At least say I live in their garage apartment or something like that

Me either. I might actually prefer it in this case because it would require bipartisan support. In my naive optimist head, that would be a cool moment for the country right about now.

Why would I need any "help"?
I've weighed and analyzed the situation from the actual arch to "self-funding"; It's troubling on more than one level to me.

I don't know what this means.
I continue to be utterly amazed by the disparity in sense of "reality" and "perspective" on the subject of Trump and his policies and agenda. Many truly seem spellbound and in a trance since his incident in Butler last year, unwilling or unable to criticize critically.

You've been implying that Trump is breaking the law by not fully funding this with private donations. You were showed that he factually is, and then you move to questioning his personal contribution to it. You have no idea if he's donating $0, $1, or $10,000,000, yet you proceed full steam ahead with your ignorance.
The fact that this very helpful post will fall on deaf ears is why I say, I can't help you.

"We are going to copy one of the most famous landmarks in the world, only more plain. But slightly bigger! And with gold things on it!"
I think you’d have a point if he was proposing some Eiffel Tower or Colliseum look alike, but post-Roman triumphal arches are kind of a thing:

Yeah I've seen that video, i just don't actually hear him say me. Are you just simply going off the inserted closed caption?

Scroll through that list. How many from the last hundred years would you be proud to have the leader of your nation spearhead as the national monument to celebrate 250 years?
And how many look like cheap knockoffs?
