I had to work that Christmas Day. I got off at 4pm and was supposed to go to my Mom’s house in Covington when I got off for Christmas dinner. My relief didn’t make it in until about 6 because of the snow and I couldn’t get to my Mom’s because of the weather. That year for Christmas dinner I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and Zapp’s Cajun Crawtators.

Yea we were in Metairie for Christmas that year. It was my oldest sister’s first Christmas as a married woman so we were all at her house.
Awesome memories of throwing snowballs at my BIL.
The pictures are in a family album at my moms house somewhere.

Very bittersweet Christmas for many in the NOLA metro. First time seeing snow for many of us, and can remember all the kids in my neighborhood outside throwing half arse “snowballs” at each other.

We got wrecked by Katrina 8 months later and neighborhoods were never the same.

we thought we were the shite - just bought a house in Arabi - our oldest was 18 months old - life was so good it snowed ON Christmas

Who knew it was our last Christmas there, too
