Dominos had every right to be upset with the late order, but probably shouldn't have wrote the note. The note was honestly just passive aggressive, it was not bad.
The nurses work late, and that sucks, but they probably should have ordered sooner than closing. They also should not have blown this up on facebook.

Then when she started ordering pasta the guy probably lost his shite and wrote a totally non offensive note with a simple request.
That is 100% a woman's handwriting on the note, but I get your point.

Said the friend, “I want to see an apology to that hospital. I don’t care if they have to bring a pizza to every floor, those nurses deserve something better.”
Dominos should also have to pay for a memorial outside of the hospital so the nurses' bravery can be remembered for generations to come.

Is it "inconsiderate" when you get that gallon of milk or diapers right at closing?
Are having them bring it to you? Is it common knowledge that it will take 30-45 minutes to get milk and diapers?
quote:WTF is this going to court over? There is nothing illegal about writing a note. The note wasn't horrible just a request. Stupid to write it? Yea, but GTFOH with court. That's as intelligent as everybody and their brother running to social media for justification of their feelings.

I don't get the big deal. The pizza guys actually took the order 5 minutes before closing and delivered it. Most wouldn't do that. They wrote a polite note asking the nurses in the future to try and order a bit earlier as a courtesy.
Yeah, I didn't read the actual post and was just reacting to comments in the thread, but after seeing that they took the order and delivered it they are in the clear.

The hospital gets very busy sometimes at night and sometimes you just order late. It happens. If you don't like delivering late don't work.

Dominoes should stop taking orders 30 min before closing.
I disagree here. If you're open, you're open. The proper solution would be for Dominos to schedule their employees 30-45 past closing. That way, you have enough time to deliver the orders that you took while you are open and clean the restaurant without turning down service. Also, you would prevent having your employees ready to run out of the door at closing time.

Were the employees expected to clock out at that time?
That's the real question. Does the posted closing time= the end of the employee's scheduled shift? If so, that's on Dominos, and the employees need to take that up with the Manager, not the customer. If not, then the employees need to be expected to take orders until closing time and work until the end of your scheduled shift without making a fuss about it.
Being that the nurse wasn't the one to write the ridiculous note, I'll side with the nurse. However, the friend sounds like an over-dramatic douche.

All this social media outrage is going to be equally stupid though, if not worse.
Oh, it is much, much worse.
As someone said earlier in the thread, it may be best if pizza delivery women and nurses don't mix going forward. It takes one helluva count to post something like that to social media requesting people to share it and take action.
You placed your order, you got your food, and you still have a problem?

I've worked in restaurants and delivered food while in college. Yes it's annoying as shite to get a super late order. But there's also a reason you are open to a certain time and not 5 minutes before that time. Do your job. Person who wrote that should be fired and anyone who knew about it leaving the restaurant should be fired. I've seen people get let go for less, like a girl asking if a table would rather sit in another section because she wanted to go home early and the manager told her when her tables were done. You start making customers feel unwelcome and you lose your business.
Always wonder where to draw the line on this stuff. Place I worked closed at 9. There were NUMEROUS times people strolled in at 8:56, asked if we were closed, and when we said no we are open for 4 more minutes, they happily plop themselves down at a table. Technically , we don't have to serve them anymore once the clock chimes 9.. right?
What about people who show up at 8 (which is perfectly acceptable).. but sit catching up with their guest until 10? My boss used to not let us say anything to them and I really wondered how long would it take before he did. Midnight? At this point they've hung around finished with their meals for an entire hour past closing time.
I side with the nurse on deserving service. I side with Dominos employee kid on letting her know to check the time next time. And I definitely think the nurse is BATSHIT for bringing something so stupid to the news. WTF? How is this news?

these kidn of people are the worst. Absolutely no regard for anyone else but themselves.

That note didn't seem rude at all to me. Sort of just a reminder in case they didn't know they were about to close.

That is what upset me the most. I've never made a scene at a restaurant or fast-food joint in my life, and I wasn't about to start, but I just wanted to know what happened. The complete lack of common courtesy once she ignored me just had me fuming.
I "retaliated" the only way I know how - I've never been back to that Popeyes. Going to Facebook with some story is absurd.

Did you read where they delivered? The only problem was a note requesting that she order sooner? The dominos did their job but made a request (that I've said they shouldn't have twice in this thread already). The question was is if you know that your service will require a business to stay open 30-45 minutes past posted closing are you a count. (Yes, yes you are) Also, people who attention whore on social media for free stuff are horrible. (Yes, yes they are)
I can only conclude that you think people beneath you must hault their lives for your benefit and if not you will go on social media until you get free stuff and the rest of the world takes your side. You are a good person, those nasty minimum wage thugs should be happy you even looked in their direction. How dare they speak to you. You need stuff to shove into your piehole until you feel you are in a safe space.

Doesn't matter. Don't right a fricking note. Just do your job and go home. Your only job is literally to bring pizza to hungry people who pay you money to do so. Is that such a hard concept to grasp?
Apparently the entire concept of common courtesy is hard for you to grasp
quote:
You have to fricking kidding me. Rude? Rude to pay for the only service that Domino's exists to offer? If you work in the service industry and aren't prepared to work until closing time, get another job. That would be like me telling my boss "now of course I won't do any work the last 15 minutes or so of the work day, how dare you expect me to do what you pay me for?"
Yes. It is rude to put in a large order right before closing. And no, it isn't the same thing as their workers will have to work well past that 15 minute mark. You're being intentionally obtuse.
quote:
honestly don't give a shite about this.
quote:
If the Domino's employee hadn't written a note complaining about doing his job then this would be a non story.
Nothing rude or wrong with the note. Good to see you were triggered just like the whiny women though.

Exactly. A lot of people simply don't think about these things and NEED to be told.
I had to calm an older lady down (who was part of a party of 25 who showed up 4 minutes before we closed) one night because the waitress misunderstood her order and she was livid over it. (She got a half poboy instead of the 12inch poboy -- got the right poboy though) The waitress in question had a chemistry final at LSU at 7:30AM the next morning. Once I apologized to the lady and explained to her that the first half of her party who came in before her arrived 4 minutes before closing and her waitress should be in bed by now for a big final, she felt like shite for being angry. She had her own granddaughter taking finals at LSU, it turned out.
I can't think of a single time I had a customer still be a dick after explaining things they don't realize. The Dominos person took the wrong approach, but that is probably what they were trying to do.
