I don't get the big deal. The pizza guys actually took the order 5 minutes before closing and delivered it. Most wouldn't do that. They wrote a polite note asking the nurses in the future to try and order a bit earlier as a courtesy.

I don't understand the outrage from the nurses. What exactly was rude or disgraceful about the note?

You walk in there every day knowing your hours of business. If you don't like it, leave.

They even do it here (back to nursing) with lunch breaks being automatically deducted. They know damn well that in busy hospitals you may not get lunch. Then they cry if you clock out "no lunch".

In that situation, I'd just walk around for 30,45,60 minutes whatever my lunch is, doing frick all. The hit the clock. Most hourly workers are pretty diligent in being professional time wasters.

I'm on domino's side. First story on my Factbook feed this morning: "10 worst states to work as a nurse" posted by, you guessed it, a nurse.

Sounds more like nurses looking for free pizzas.

Exactly. And to those saying "just make a policy to stop taking orders 30 minutes before close", you underestimate the laziness of service industry employees. They are going to try to start doing their nightly clean up duties several minutes before that 30 minute rule after a little while and then they'll get pissed at you for ordering 5 minutes before they were ready to stop taking orders. Moving it by 15-30 minutes does nothing. It's that end of a shift thing where people just want to get out. I know I'm supposed to leave at 4, but always find myself trying to check out at 3:30ish. If you moved it to 3:30, I'd be daydreaming and ready to go by 3 and annoyed if anyone tried to drop something on my desk.

The nurse sounds like a turd too, but it doesn't cover up just how unprofessional and bad that is for the restaurant.

Dominos could just do like most bars do and move their clocks 15 minutes fast.

It sounds like there's more to the story than what the nurse and her friend are suggesting....

This, the nurse is rude for blasting them for this. They asked her to be more considerate next time. Nothing wrong with that.

We are also talking about Paris Texas, that Dominos was probably the last place open in town. The nurse would know that was her only option so why did she wait till the last minute to order and also order pasta? Probably because nurses can be very rude and entitled.

I hope next time she misses Dominos closing time and is forced to eat from the vending machine like she should have this night.

Jesus Christ people there is no "side" to be on. A place of business is open to 12:00. If someone orders during business hours, I don't care if it's 11:59, you bring them a fricking pizza. It doesn't matter if it's a nurse or the pope. You don't like it? Don't work at Domino's. I swear the youth of today scare me with their laziness and overall shitty attitudes...

I have worked at Domino's and Godfather's Pizza delivery back in the 80's. We have stayed open until 1:00 am. There have been many times that we have gotten calls up to and past 'closing' time. If the business is good then we don't turn it away. That usually happens on weekends. But we kept our oven on until closing. That was the key. We could pre-close everything else and still take care of the few orders that came in.

If they take orders for delivery until 11pm, then I have no problem here. Sorry you little snowflakes have to stay late, but that's what customer service is. Business revolves around the customer, not the employee that doesn't want to wipe down the prep lines again. If the business doesn't want their drivers out past 11pm then they would stop taking delivery orders at 1030pm. 100% on the side of the nurse.

Thanks for letting everyone know that you are a piece of shite.

What exactly does this mean? It seems like it's coded racism.

As you pick a side

1) the note wasn't rude
2) it is rude to put a large order in right before closing time. Anyone who ever worked in the service injury at any time in their life would know that.
3) the nurses seem entitled stating that they "deserve" free pizza

quote:

They delivered the pizza, and then politely asked the nurses to be more considerate. If the nurses don't like it, find another late night pizza delivery place instead of crying on social media.

I can't believe this story has gained as much attention as it has. The nurse isn't the one seeking attention, it's the friend Kerry Miller and that's sad.

Makes Paris look bad and it's not, I live here.

I am on the side of the nurse in this one. Sucks that Dominos will get the bad publicity for what is ultimately just a lazy employee.

If you are open until 12:00 then that means all orders up to 12:00 are fair game and should be handled in a professional manner.
