Defiantly College.

When you grow up in a rural area you have friends that you get raised with in small town/rural community.

Some go off to a major University, a majority go to CC and drop out after a semester/year, and end up doing the exact same shite they did in high school. You move on and some will think "Oh he thinks he's too good for us" or "frick man, good for you." (Please Ignore Grammer Nazi's)

I'm only 23 but for some reason I have much better friends I went to college with then anyone I went to high school with.

Am I the only weirdo who doesn't keep up with any of them? I'm terrible about keeping up with my good friends even though I hold them all in high regard.

I guess I have hard time getting real close to people. It's a shitty personality trait I guess

All of my closest friends are people I grew up with. Middle school or earlier.

Not Possible.

Mad-Town, Wisconsin = Frat Mecca
Good Beer, Cheese Curds, and slightly overweight girls in big sweatshirts. What else could you ask for?

I've only ever drove through Madison on the way to Door County a couple of times. It looks like a pretty cool place with the lakes surrounding campus, but the cold would suck. Wouldn't last.

Can't feel the cold if you're drunk enough.

College and grad school.

Grad school friends are the ones that you are likely to see at conferences.

Still talk to all 3 of my college roommates multiple times a week.

A mix for me.

The friend who knows the most about me and is my #1 in closeness is from high school.

But I have a best friend I grew up next door to and a best friend I just recently got close with.

In college, I had a group of good friends that I actually have known since I was 4. We randomly happened to all 4 get super close once we got to college even though we went to the same elementary and high school.

Same.

That's why I have so few friends. My newest best friend was someone I forced myself to get close to Now, I love him, but I just don't really care to exert the effort into getting close to people anymore.

When you're younger, you become close instantly. It doesn't really work that way as adults.

So I think "Well, I can go hang out with this new friend and work on getting close.. or I can call up the person who knows everything about me already and hang out with them"
