So how does one test a Missle? i mean arent they suppose to blow up? We're you busy only half the time?when they didnt blast off/ blow up? Hey Joe, " Looks like missle 2 didnt explode we need you to go work on that one."
He's AF so they have Minutemen... not sure how similar those are to submarine launched Trident missiles.
Trident missiles are around 44ft tall and 7ft in diameter. They have a section that contains all the electronics and guidance systems. You can actually open them up and crawl around inside (I've been in them).
The Missile Techs on subs actually have to go inside each missile when you go out on deployment to "ready" the missiles in case of launch... and they go back in when you're coming off deployment to take them back out of "ready" status.

Commanded C, 210th FSB and then served in the DMOC. Probably just missed each other.

I wasn't interested in it either... which is why I switched jobs. I went to my first boat as a Missile Technician, hated it, and convinced my Weps to let me cross rate. Definitely did not regret that decision.

I was at the Health Clinic from 93-96. So there's a pretty good chance we crossed path's in the Class Six or PX.
