Then I deflect your baseball bat and am in your face. I'm going with a tire iron because it's easy/fast to swing and still heavy enough to crack some skulls.

Or I can just move when you swing for the fences, can't recover quickly, and then you've got a tire iron to the head

I f I was weaponless and had to fight someone holding a bat or hammer I would choose the guy with the hammer

The reach difference between a bat and a tire iron isn't that great. I'm tall enough and have long enough arms to make that difference either negligible or nonexistent with more people.

A hammer on the other hand is entirely too close contact. Some one will just be able to ignore it and go in for the take down with a body grab.

What happens when you whiff completely with a bat?

I'm saying I would use the tire iron.

I'm a big pussy so if the fight lasts more than 10 seconds I'm a dead man. Defensive capabilities are worthless because I'll only have one, maybe two shots at delivering an incapacitating blow to stand a chance.

So I'll go with hammer with bat being a close second. A direct hit with a hammer would be the most serious, and that's what I'd need. Also it's easier to and quicker to swing. If someone has a bat there's a chance you can charge really fast and get too close for it to be as effective. And the bat becomes more limited if you're on close quarters like a small room in your home.

As would also be the case with your hand, the only difference being your other hand is empty and mine is holding a bat.

To my way of thinking..the bat is long, the swing takes a long time. I have a pretty damn good chance of taking it away, and I have actually done this before. It then became my weapon and I used the ends to do some damage. The scenario is important, like somebody already said.

Agree, especially if it isn't too big.

Too heavy/long becomes cumbersome. Especially if you need two hands to deploy well.

A t-ball/little league bat would be a decent choice.

there is some merit to this

I just like my chances better at bull rushing a guy with a tire iron or hammer over a bat

You block any oncoming threat and swing again.

A bad arse that would whip your baseball bat butt with my tire iron. It's not like people just stand there and let you swing baseball bats at them. They're gonna be on you pretty quickly

You must have really tough hands to take the force of a bat swing. Really think you could stop/catch it?

All you have to do is move or deflect it, and then your bat is just a hindrance to you in the fight

I'm not sure, but this thread has serious potential if the OP pulls the ol' switcheroo.

At the end of the swing, probably not..middle of the swing hell yes..and I have done it before.

The scenario is important.
