I will within the next 3-4 years. Wife feels the same way. Not a good idea to travel with a baby unless it meets a rare circumstance

So, you and your wife have no clue. Got it.

A little advice....a little empathy can go a long way. I promise you those parents are 100x more stressed than you when their child is crying on an airplane.

I'm not a fan of kids on a plane and I've sat next to them but it is nothing to bitch about if you bring noise canceling head phones and turn the volume up loud, that with a book and you don't even recognize them.

Honestly don’t care about being stressed.
It is just irresponsible as a parent to bring your infant child on an airplane unless it meets a rare circumstance.

My wife works in labor and delivery and knows a lot more about babies than the average person

So when I lived overseas with my family I shouldn't have been allowed to fly back home for the holidays with my young son?

Working in labor and delivery doesn't make you an expert on parenting.

You and your wife sound like joys to be around.

you keep typing this but I doubt you really understand what it means. Considering most of the kids you keep references are probably 6 months are older and not newborns where that statement would be true.
Are kids more than likely to catch something? Sure but so are old people so should they not fly either>

Fire on an airplane is worse than either one.

Here is my top five worst things to have on an airplane:

5. Super-strong body odor guy
4. Snakes (Samuel Jackson can attest to this)
2t. Terrorists
2t. Fire
1. Gaping hole in the side

Nope 27

I can tell you I won’t be bringing our infant child on airplane. Just totally irresponsible honestly.

Same people wonder why their child gets sick a week later

So...you don't have an infant child, but are telling us how you will be with yours when you have one. Here is my take...

1. What constitutes a "rare circumstance"...and how do you know the people you see with kids on a plane aren't experiencing one? If you have to travel across the country with the family...you will probably resort to a 2 legs and 3 hours on a plane over 15 hours in a car. If you don't, you are a dumbass.

2. You probably also think you won't ever own a minivan because they aren't cool. Newsflash...yes you will.

3. Exposure to germs may get the infants sick...but that exposure can also help their immune system develop fully.

How am I being a douche? There is absolutely no reason to travel with an infant. Leave it with family or a nanny. They won’t remember whatever it is you a bringing them to.

Well, I remember. And I actually enjoy being with my kids 99% of the time, just like I did when they were infants. Those same things were true for whichever relative or close friend we happened to be visiting. I got lucky and none of my kids ever cried more than 5-10 minutes on a plane, but even if they had I would’ve sucked it up because they were sort of an integral part of the family.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if your parents couldn’t wait to go on a trip and leave you behind, though.

Do you know what the word irresponsible means, because it surely isn't the right word to use here. Sometimes people need to fly with their kids. Not everyone has family that lives within an hour of them, and if the parent wants to take their child on vacation that is their choice.

Guess 99.9% of the world have never been around babies. GTF with this dumb take.

It’s not about the infant/baby/toddler remembering. It’s a memory for the parents.

What an insufferable douche you are.

Fwiw, my kid is a daycare kid and is immune to all germs.

You can solve that by flying first class instead of just bitching about it like a little girl.

So, I looked it up and it turns out there’s an actual reason that babies cry on airplanes. And it’s that they’re upset that gay people are getting married.

I don’t agree with them. I think if people are in love, they should get married. But they can’t accept that. They’re just being babies. Babies are selfish.
