Do you realize there are a metric shite ton of people out there who can't just work from home?

The response to the virus is not out of panic. It's of preparation.

at this point, it's panic

if it was preparation, what we did today would have been done 2 weeks ago

Well, our government is currently destroying our economy, so I'll have to go with the panic.

What?

It's not the virus shutting peoples business down and putting people out of work.

Def the panic for ~99% of the population. The rest are actually in danger of getting seriously ill (older, immuno-compromised). I’m really only worried about my family members who this virus could really hurt.

At this rate more people may die from the panic rather than the virus it seems

I've been saying this for two weeks.

A historical tidbit for the kids: in 2005, Hurricane Rita resulted in 113 deaths in the state of Texas. 107 of those deaths were caused not by the storm itself but were associated with the evacuation of the Houston metropolitan area.

That evacuation was just a panic-driven cluster frick.
