Law and med school just require the ability to remember what you read.
Law is far from just memorization. That is a very minor aspect of law school.

there are too many different abilities in each profession to say which one is harder or not.

Why are you so hung go about med school? Do you have a misaligned sense of it's difficulty because your wife isn't smart enough to be a doctor?

How so? I get to bring a formula sheet. I mean, I just sit in a room and take the test. Same as normal, but the distractions are eliminated. I don't have extended time or anything

Nothing of my opinion is misaligned. Your personal attack is noted though.

I'm just wondering how the hell someone gets to take an isolated test.

Yes, got annoyed by this chick reading shite out loud and just stopped taking the test the first time. Passed it the second time. That wasn't very hard either

A lot more people fail it once than care to admit. We actually had a departmental test that was much, much harder. IIRC, it was 3hrs and 30 problems. Have to pass that to graduate

What about astrophysicists? Neil Degrasse Tyson is considered a pretty smart guy and he's tweeting stupid shite all the time.

FE is fully electronic now with a google-like search feature to have across all disciplines and advanced mathematics while you take the test.

I've done both engineering (Biomedical) and have an MD. The engineering degree had it's challenges in terms of projects and such, but it's not even close. Med School required at least a 400% increase in the amount of studying.

While it is most memorizing, the people who truly get it understand the material and can put it together. The memorizers forget it after the test and struggle with boards, etc.

I have always told people that I thought engineering was a wonderful route to medical school.
