For me, I would say if Jesus of Nazareth did exist, divine or not, he seems to have impacted the course of world events the most.
He likely did NOT exist, and even if he did it was Paul, not Jesus, who impacted the world.

True.
But I'm still going with Fritz Haber.

Cant believe King John isn't on that list. Signed the Magna Carta. Every president except one is a decedent of him.

Not really. He really is only responsible for the killing of the Jews and other "undesirables"..... Europe would likely have been in a war regardless of who was leading Germany. Germany was getting powerful and England didn't want to give up their old world dominance.
Don't forget that the war started when England came to protect Poland from what was probably an abusive regime and ended when England allowed Poland to be ruled over by an unquestionably evil and oppressive regime. It's pretty clear they didn't give a shite what Hitler wanted with Poland or anything else.

Anybody say Edison? Because it's Edison, all big bad capitalistic proclivities notwithstanding.

Jonas salk's work has had a pretty big impact
Confuscious
Elvis
None of these necessarily belong at the top but have had a huge impact on the world and I haven't seen them mentioned in thread

Finally, good and hard evidence that Rex is an idiot.

New here?
Statistically you have a much better chance of reading a Rex post which reinforces his idiocy/lunacy than one which conveys any sense of normalcy by him.
As in 98:2 or so.
He's a legacy though, we HAVE to take him.

I would say Jesus, unfortunately Very Very few have a clue as to what he really taught, hence the insane world we see today.

So not Jesus, then

But while Genghis is just a historic figure, Jesus still impacts the lives of roughly 30% of the worlds population today. And he did this by traveling less the 50 miles from where he was born and was only in the public like 4 years or so. And he did this over 1000 years befor Genghis and is still doing it 2000 years later. No other man that has ever lived can say this.
I'm not one to downplay the role of Jesus and think he has a real role in this discussion, but literally every society from Vietnam to Hungary is still (strongly) shaped by what the Khans did.

As someone who much earlier in the thread pointed out that Jesus' existence is not conclusive, I do have to concede that most scholars believe that he did.

Now here is where you're on much firmer (if less diplomatic) ground.
While they may be contemporary evidence of his existence (for the sake of argument, we'll say there is), there is no contemporary evidence of his teachings and influence.
That all came later through Paul and the Gospels (which were written after Jesus' death and not by the people under whose names they are credited)
In addition, as mentioned numerous times, Constantine is the one that really elevated Christianity and even he had some "conditions" in exchange for doing that (some of the early Gospels had to go, for instance)
So, yeah, this may have nominally been done in Jesus' "name" but was he really the influencer here?

Jesus..... End of discussion
Without Eve's shenanigans with the father of lies, Jesus is not necessary, so Eve.

Well the impact was not only big, it was the only impact. What he taught was that there is nothing here but an ego thought system, a mind dreaming. He showed how it could be transcended. Mastery through Love. He taught that all beings are innocent, and simply do not know what they are doing.
Unfortunately people learn through a nightmare of pain and suffering. The outcome is certain, there is and can be only 1 outcome

Rex and I agree on Paul. Which is terrifying to me. Might be time to reconsider my life.
