I was born in 1978. My older sister in 1976. There was very little difference in our childhood, fashion trends, exposure to technology, musical tastes.

I've always considered myself Gen X, but I guess I'm actually an Xennial.

Works for me, I guess.

Now get off my lawn, millenial losers!

Xennial

A term made by special snowflake older millennials and younger generation xers so they can feel more special.

Are we the smallest generation? I don’t feel any magical bond with y’all. How’s this supposed to work?

All day long people on here try to find ways to not call themselves millennials. The 1981-1983 crew is ecstatic with this thread.

Meh, your actions define you as a person whether they fit in with the generational norms or not (good or bad).

Not sure. Like I posted above, my older sister and I are 19 months apart yet I'm supposed to believe that we are part of different "generations"

Which is idiotic, they shouldn't define you as a person per your generational standards. They should define you as a person per humanity standards. We didn't say to the Nazis at Nuremberg when they said they were just following orders that it was right of them to murder millions and we didn't make that argument based on when they were born. We made that argument based on humanity has a certain moral ethic in it and some things you should never do, orders or not.

I agree with you, but I guess it just doesn’t bother me that much.

I don’t care if people write me off as a certain generation because they’re the one missing out on all of my better qualities, whereas I’m only missing out on a closed-minded person I wouldn’t want to know anyway.

I don't think 99% of us take generational labels this seriously. It's more the equivalent of a facebook quiz telling me what kind of animal I'd be, or whatever. I'm briefly like "Huh", then it's gone from my mind.

I was born in '84 and had that same childhood. But LA gets things later than other parts of the country, so maybe that's why
