Montgomery has zero redeeming qualities so it’s definitely Montgomery

Memphis sucks but Montgomery is literally a shvt hole. Any person saying Memphis needs to leave their momma’s basement for once.

I was just in Montgomery and was surprised by how nice it was. I was near the AUM campus.

On the way out I did stop and get gas and that area was pretty sketchy.

The OP literally states he is limiting his inquiry to matters of public safety. When the crime stats point in Montgomery’s favor, people all of a sudden want to talk barbecue and Beale Street.

Both are terrible, but Memphis is the answer and it's really not that close

Montgomery is trying hard to catch up, though. The little hipster pockets near the Renaissance Hotel won't save it.

As far as violent crime goes, the majority of Montgomery’s violent crime is thug on thug where the supposed “victim” knows the offender. Your average Joe blow will most definitely have to deal with a thief at some point. Locking your shite up is a must down there.

Montgomery’s new police chief came from New Orleans and at first glance he looked like a failure of a hire based off his past but he’s actually letting them conduct car chases now so their regulars have taken notice.

So far he seems to be better than their previous police chief who was more in line with a hug a thug style. I don’t think Montgomery will ever return to what it was say 20 to 30 years ago but MPD being slightly more proactive has been nice.

But as someone else said, entertainment wise there isn’t much to do in Montgomery.

The bad places in Memphis are fricking horrible, and there are lots of them.

I have no idea of Montgomery though but a quick interwebz search looks like Memphis has 2x the per capita homicides of Montgomery.

Huntsville’s metro is 490k vs Birmingham’s 1.1 million. With Shelby County’s consistent growth, I don’t see Huntsville catching Birmingham any time soon.

Birmingham metro area has 7 or 8 counties while Huntsville only has 2. Let Huntsville add every county that touches Madison County like Birmingham gets and those numbers are a lot closer. Birmingham would still be bigger, but not by much.

There are no wealthy people to steal from in Montgomery. That's all I have to say.

Memphis the crime is in ghettos you aren’t near. Montgomery you will have a 6 bedroom home two blocks away from a drug deal

Nothing more pathetic, yet hilarious, than a forum full of people primarily from Louisiana shitting on Memphis.

You know, the city with three Fortune 500 corporations to LA's zero.

A good friend of mine was killed in a home invasion in the Evergreen area earlier this week.

I know him.

Talked to him two weeks ago.

But he wasn't killed by random violence.

ere wouldn’t happen to be a common denominator here with all the cities mentioned in this thread right?

That common denominator would extend to all SEC football teams as well, correct?
